I seem to have a problem with my foot so have sent husband and friend off walking dogs while I'm at home. Oh well. Next week. Sent an e-form to the Doctor's with the symptoms - hopefully they will refer me to a podiatrist as the potential is for much pain and long-term damage if not addressed soonSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks again SL!Sorry to hear about your foot, that doesn't sound good at all
I hope you get a referral quickly.
Totally with you on the appallingness of a billowy shower curtain that gets stuck to you - kudos for thinking of a solution2023: the year I get to buy a car6 -

Ooh so do I @XSpender. I might have to go privately if I don't. I might mention the clinical commissioning board key objective of keeping the over 60s active if we speak (I am hoping for a straightforward email saying they have referred me to be honest).
I need to top and tail gooseberries this morning (living the dream again). Having frozen a bunch without doing so last year I know the error of thinking I can't be bothered to do it before freezing. And the amount of courgettes on their way I do hope my new freezer is big enough!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I hope you get a quick referral too SL. But sadly I think any objectives have probably gone out the window in recent months. Although my mum and I were wondering what GPS are doing - people aren’t able to visit for a normal appointment and you can’t go if you think you have Covid.... so who are they seeing?

Well the Dr rang and asked me lots of the same questions as on the e-form. Asked me about previous orthotics and I said they were for something else so might need a podiatrist to look as more than one thing going on. "OK, I'll refer you. Bye. Click" - I wonder how long that will take. If no word this month I shall pay for initial consultation I think.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Oh dear. Been pottering round bank accounts and DH's bills account is underfunded for the size of his credit card bill again this month. Just when I am predicting a net underspend we get another little surprise and spend more than we have coming in. It is what I expected in this four and a half year period between stopping work and drawing state pension, but I still feel slightly frustrated by it.
And his bike tax popped in as a DD on the last day of the month before his pension arrived. (£93!) [eek!] - fortunately I had moved £110 to make sure there would be a small cushion but it was much less than I planned. It did at least keep the account in the black (just) so loyalty payments not impacted.
I keep thinking we are near the end of the spend on refurb'ing the van but we are going to need to redo the floor. DH walking back and forth for six months means the slight movement is much worse so resin and dowels bought to strengthen it and replacement flooring under discussion.
So bored by the rain now. I want my summer back please.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Right well the lights plan in the van bathroom is currently being revised as plan A is too heavy. I have made my suggestions and he is best left to it now. I have finished sealing round the aluminium box that holds the tap gubbins and I have received a copper leaf gilding kit (to be honest, it looked quite straightforward watching Angela Strawbridge who was showing a fellow Chateau owner one wet February afternoon, so I thought I would have a go). We are using copper plumbing pipe elsewhere so it will be less out of place than the aluminium box and maybe a bit steam punk.
My foot feels like the bruise you get when you were walking around your hotel bedroom barefoot in the dark and caught your last two toes on the corner leg of the bed. That sort of dull ache where it briefly crosses your mind that it's broken and then you tell yourself not to be such a wimp.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
