Virgin media credit file hell

• It was the explaination given to me at the time I'd failed the credit checks. And to contact the cras. I was surprised as at that time is had no credit since 2010. I had opted for a credit union current bank account that couldn't go overdrawn and my ongoing 02 phone contract that has been in good standing since I got it in 2013.
I only recently had a mainstream bank and again although I have a nice overdraft I'm either in credit or just within my overdraft. When I checked this was the only thing reporting delinquency.

But this has been related. Equifax told me on the phone that virgin mobile will drop off my credit report in October 2018 as I have not made a payment since 2011.

However virgin have never defualted me just showed two accounts in arrears. So is this the case?

Equifax won't even let me add a notice of correction as the only way I can explain why this is the only account I haven't paid off is that I could not use the service I was paying for due to virgins failure to correct a technical issue.

Will this in fact drop off my credit report even though virgin never applied a default or will I always be stuck with there error strangling my credit score ?

Unless they decide to apply for a default!

If you believe none of this is your fault and it is purely down to Virgin then complain direct to tom.mockridge@virginmedia.co.uk - he is the CEO and it will be passed to the CEO complaints team who will deal with it within 48 working hours,

Take a screenshot of your Equifax account.

Have you also checked Noddle (Call Credit) and MSE credit club (Experian) for your other 2 free reports? Don't forget to also try ClearScore which is the free version of Equifax.

If Virgin are still making monthly live updates of your account being in arrears then all that happens is by 2018 the status updates from 2011 to 2017 will be gone. It the account is still open, then you'd still have all the negative data from 2017 to 2018 that they'd be reporting.

Is the account actually closed on your credit files?
