I applied for the platinum everyday cashback. Which one did you apply for?
  • I called them today and they said they have received my documents and that they are still making a decision.. how long does it take to approve or decline, they have my supporting documents so I don't see why the huge hold up. :(
  • My card has been approved today :T

    Any news on yours?

Hey guys - New to the thread.

So I applied for a Amex card and I received an email saying that they are pleased to say my application is going well and I just need to send in proof of ID and address to finalise my application. I have sent to documents requested and I'm curious if this means that I will be approved or declined? I'm hopeful from the way they worded the email but I'm still a little uncertain. Anyone else had this issue before?

    thanks

I have both a credit card and a green charge card and I didn't have to provide ID for them. I should think that if they have asked for ID they are either finalising the application or they are attempting to verify the ID and address because they cannot do it by digital means.

Amex do however love to do practically all negotiations by postal means. Perhaps they don't trust email or indeed anything digital. Maybe that's it.

I phoned them again and they said they had wrote to me same day I phoned them but said I should mail them the docs myself anyway. They said exactly the same last time I phoned them we have sent out a letter etc but you can send the docs yourself.

I some how doubt they have wrote to me otherwise I would have got that letter by now. I think they are just waiting for me to send them the docs. I think maybe customer service only have access to so much info for example we need this doc etc but probably dont know if the other department has written to me etc and just say that to everyone assuming the other department has.

I sent them the docs my self anyway lets hope they like the docs I sent this time.
