Indeed. Ideally nrp should have a bedroom for them to stay over as well and would spend money on hobbies, entertainment, food and so on as well on those days child sees them. It's just that there is not enough money for all if it hence someone will be shortchanged and as the system sees shortchanging nrp as a lesser evil that is what is happening
The word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.

Why should the "system" be providing any of this in the first place?? Why can't the NRP get a job that enables the NRP to provide all of these things at the NRPs own expense?

Really? So someone is supposed almost double one's income just like that to support two households instead of one to the same level? Indeed, why does not he..I must misunderstood what you written.
You misunderstood me as well , I did not talk about system giving money, I meant system redistributing existing money.

  • I need to correct an error as pointed out to me by Redacted

Actual take home pay after pensions , tax/ No for each would be £1,283.55

    I omitted the TaX/Ni. d'oh!

So after housing costs, bills, food and maintenance as in the example in my previous post NRP would have £126 left.

RP after factoring in an extra £200 for her bills / food to account for the child she has [83.33 left
Then add £404.21 in benefits, £156 . This totals £643

Possibly if no housing costs £500 can be added to this total.

    Total for child is 404 +156 + 200 (from RP's extra for bills) = £760.

There are many variables , she may have housing costs, his rent might be higher than hers. They may live in different council areas this different amounts of council tax to pay. His bills may be less than hers. and so on.

Figures used for bills/food etc. are examples of each having similar costs only.
