Looking for a deal - not getting far
Hi all,
I have a Samsung S4, it's my second one after claiming on my insurance for a previously damaged one.
I'm a huge fan of Samsung's so i would like another, but here's the problem, i have an absolutely sweet contract with Three, literally unlimited everything for £27 a month, back from the days when they were giving them away for peanuts.
The S4 as much as i love it is a bit dated and generally sluggish, so i would like a new model, ie S6, but to get one on contract i have so sign up to a new deal with Three, which will be more expensive then i pay now but i will not get the great benefits, there's also upto 3gb of free hotspot and as much data as i want when in Europe with my current deal.
So what do i do;
1. Stick with the S4 claim on my insurance once a year, citing that it's faulty.
2. Go to SIM only and buy a phone, the only problem being i haven't a large disposable income to do such?
3. Suggestions?
Help/comments - greatly appreciated

If you are so comfortable with insurance fraud why not just steal a new phone from somewhere?====0 -
Ok, to clarify - the last phone was faulty due to age, the battery didn't last long at all and the phone kept turning on and off, this phone is also doing the same.
But thanks for the comments, really helpful.
Also morals, !!!!!! man, seriously?!0 -
Insurance fraud is just pushing the cost on to other people. So it is poor morals.
I've just got an S7 for £28pm (Vodaphone, free unlocked phone, 6 months 1/2 price, £35 Quidco cashback, unlimited minutes/texts, 3GB 4G data) so you aren't priced out of a new model. It's costing the equivalent of £24.50 a month when you work it all out.
(Just checked, the handset is now £15 which still isn't bad)0 -
I got the S6 for under £20 last year from voda. If you dont want to change the contract then buy an S6?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Phones aren't designed to last more than three or so years these days... what with software updates gradually making the hardware more and more unusable.
Also, I'm certian Three were doing unlimited everything for £11/mo, just a few months ago as I nearly dumped Tesco for them. So you're "steal" of a £27/mo isn't that great at all.0 -
OP you are a disgraceThe instructions on the box said 'Requires Windows 7 or better'. So I installed LINUX
:D

The one that NEEDS Samsung, that isn't nothing much more than a expensive label... that (don't want) "can't" afford0
-
OP - Why don't you share your requirements (Data/Minutes/Text) and phone preference and we can make some recommendations?
Sounds like you are on the old "One Plan" which is no more.0 -

Just wanted to comment this is an outstanding deal! :money: I help friends and family shop around for good mobile deals a lot.
I work the contract cost total to be £553. As the cheapest I can find an S7 new is £415 you are effectively paying less than £6 a month for an outstanding package and getting an interest free loan on the handset.0
