Work programme?

Make no mistake, at the end of the day, the so-called "Work Programme" is modernised slavery. I don't care what anyone says on here, that's what it is.0

What if in order to gain employment in the sector they wish to and have qualifications in a person has to do part-time volunteer work to get their foot in the door? In that case should they be made to do a full-time job they hate and so then put off ever being able to get into a job they enjoy and are skilled in? Of course not paying volunteers is another way employers take complete advantage and it isn't fair but sadly it's often the only way to get on the ladder to where you want to be.0

AFAIK when the mandatory work schemes were abolished, the DWP assured the Select Committee of MPs that if a Claimant proposed their own work experience placement that would be considered, rather than directing them to somewhere else. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0
