  • I may be changing from BT broadband/line rental and have seen - John Lewis broadband/line rental and charge £22.50 per month.
Is anyone with them and are they any good?:j
  • I'm just doing the same thing - except moving broadband/phone service from Sky as saves about a tenner a month and Sky refusing to change our landline number (nuisance calls including debt collection agencies for the person who previously had our number, very annoying!).

Any feedback welcome - deal seems pretty good!

    Cheers
  • Been with John Lewis BB a few times never had any issues. Customer service was very good when needed.

  • Well I have to say I'm not impressed so far. Ordered online on 25th. Received an email on 26th to say problem progressing broadband order. Phoned, and was 'sorted' on the phone. Order placed and confirmed, with connection date 9th Feb.

Received another email 31st Jan to say connection recommitted to 14th Feb and will contact. Phoned on same day with a different query, and was confirmed again for 9th and told I'd receive an update.

No update by 6th Feb so quick call to check, where adviser said he 'checked a few systems with suppliers (Openreach?) and confirmed to be connected 9th Feb.

So 9th Feb comes and still had no notification so yet another phone call, for the adviser to tell me that the order had been rejected only half an hour ago before (I had to call them to be told this!). Checked MySky and both broadband and phone have now been removed from my account. Called home telephone number and number has been disconnected. Told being looked into but this is a really bad start for a switch that should be seamless.

Recommendation at the moment is to avoid John Lewis Broadband - customer service is clearly not up to it!
  • Well now they are saying that the earliest they will connect is the 20th Feb and for the inconvenience they will offer a measly £10 credit from my bill. Think already as soon as the contract is up I'll be switching away, if I could get a service connected more quickly with another company I'd go straight to them now. They are blaming BT wholesale and Openreach for the failing but won't get in touch with them to do anything about it. I require the ability to be able to work from home, which is now not possible, so £10 isn't going to cut it!

John Lewis Broadband is a residential product

if you rely on it for business then you should be paying business tariffs and getting the additional service levels/compensation that brings

  • Requiring the ability to work from home and running a business from home are 2 different things....

And the compensation available on a residential line where someone needs to use it to work from home compared to someone using (and paying) for a line for business use are also two different things. That's the crucial point.

its a residential line so compensation is minimal you can only appeal for goodwill from John Lewis "I cannot work from home" carries no weight .

failed install / mess up at their end on the order IS their problem though
