No idea, around 80-100, and only 1 space is designated as EV parking with 1 dual socket charger. Used to be dual 7kW, but recently one socket was downgraded to 3.6kW.

Yes, around 0.6miles extra per week. Although I was known to be lazy on the odd occasion and use my OH petrol Mini...

Your point being? ....

There were fewer EVs on the road last week than this, just as there were fewer public chargers ... isn't it just a standard case of supply & demand, with DrEskimo just creating a little more demand?

... as for additional urban miles, if it's walking distance then there probably aren't many racked up & being by EV the emissions are irrelevant .... some in more rural areas still rack up miles within towns because they have no option other than to drive - if this is done with an ICE vehicle then just think of the additional energy consumed and the exhaust emissions that are left behind in population centres for others to 'enjoy' at their leisure, particularly those attempting to exercise close to their homes ....

Don't you just love hypocrisy! ...;)

The problem with that is people who have home charging will be paying a hell of a lot less than those who don't for the electricity. So people who don't have a driveway, the people who probably have lower incomes, will be paying the most

Rapid charging is more expensive, 'slower' (22kW and below, let's say) will be cheaper, and possibly free. 22kW and below chargers are AC, and significantly cheaper than the rapids, and are often in places companies want you to visit. A few hours a week at these could be sufficient. Or, you know, visit a petrol station and see what direction those costs go.

Matthew Mostafaei, Audi’s manager for e-tron, presented data taken from Twitter during the New York Auto Show without naming the source. (That’s plagiarism.) The data was misrepresented by plotting it on a different axis. (That’s a falsification.) He then used the data to show the e-tron’s charging superiority over the Model 3, when it actually proves the opposite. (That’s deception.) You may call this good marketing. I call it a brazen lie. At best, it is a highly misleading accident.

Don't you just love the application of forensic logic ....

Heads should be spinning in disbelief in Wolfsburg - all of the positive signs of turning the corner of enlightenment towards EVs in order to regain corporate trust and the culture of spinning the truth rebounds so easily ... I'm pretty certain that this one will keep surfacing on a regular basis whenever VAG badged EVs are being compared to alternatives ....

They could possibly fix it by having some system that billed public charging to your home bill.

I don’t see why that’s a problem.

I’m working in Amsterdam at the moment, and using the Car2go scheme which lets you rent electric ForTwo cars by the minute. You pick them up on the street, park them where you want afterwards, and get a credit on your account if you charge them up when they are low.

It’s brilliant, very convenient, cheap, and there are charging points all over the place. They are genuinely fun to drive too.

I’ve a Tesla Model S arriving next month and am really excited about it.

That’s simply not true.

The poorest people pay no tax, receive large benefits, get child benefit, help with childcare costs, get subsidised housing and so on and so forth.

The wealthier people pay for everything themselves, in full, are expected to give up nearly half of all that they earn to support the rest of society, and will tend to have far larger housing and commuting costs as their high-paying jobs tend to be in the middle of expensive cities.
