    Change it sole.
    Switch.
    Change it to joint.

Can't switch a joint account to a sole account through CASS sadly!

    I don't understand...
Convert joint to sole before switching, then switch.

Bit of a ball ache, can't be arsed, don't know if TSB would accept etc etc.

I'm picky about how much effort I put in for free money, and dealing with Halifax to all but a minimal extent is a bit too much effort for me.

Convert the old account to sole only after being accepted then, before switching. This doesn't take long and will possibly take just one phone call from both account holders.

Don't know about Halifax, but this was very easy with Nationwide.

You've clearly never had to deal much with Scallyfax! ;)

I currently have a TSB Classic Plus account but didn't switch or receive any incentive, as there was no switch offer available at the time I opened the account. By my reading of this offer, I could close it, then open and switch to a new one, and I'd get this incentive. Am I missing anything? I suppose I take the risk that my application for a new account is rejected, but that wouldn't be the end of the world to me as I have 'space' in other 3% accounts at the moment.

My reading of the t&cs suggests the same.

Will be doing this in the next few days.

Closing my classic plus account, what a pain, will only do by signed instruction, in branch or by post. When asked what address to post its to your own branch, luckily whilst never having been there I was in town on Sunday and dropped my letter through the letter box and saved a stamp.

Had a hunch this was popping back in the near future, but closed the account to apply for a new one as the debit card cashback is worthwhile for the next eight months.

My reading is I could just downgrade the classic plus I already have to a classic (can't be done online) and then open a new classic plus via the link, just need to get the timing right so I don't lose the £5 cashback I have already earned for Jan. Time to make sure my donor account has some DDs set up.

I was hoping I could do this for DW as her £5 per month contactless has already expired (this has been very useful in shops that don't take Amex) but she already had a switch incentive back in 2015...I wonder if they check.....
    I think....

Remove an account holder - very easy and then switch online.
If you don't wish to do it - that is a different matter but hardly a 'ballache'

I also have a TSB Mastercard that I'm also getting 1% cashback on while I have a Classic Plus Account. I'm likely to earn the full £5 per month on this in the next few months.

Unsure for what period the Credit Card cashback would cease and wondering if it would then restart once a new Classic Plus Account was opened?

When has TSB offered switching incentives in the past? I think I might be prepared to sit this one out and see if it comes around again in the future.
