Since you already have a Gmail account, why haven't you moved all your incoming 02 correspondence over to that account? You've had 4 years. Or you could have set it up to forward straight to Gmail.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Technically the old O2 mail server still exists as the MX record on the DNS of the o2.co.uk domain is still the old mail.02.net mail server which it has been for years.

Usually if the email service was taken over by e.g Sky, then the MX record would be changed to one that they control.

I've had an o2 email account for at least 15 years back when it was known as Genie.

I don't know why "some" people can't accept that the O2 email service is no more!

Will you accept the fact that O2 email has been closed down if you read it on the O2 site here?

That is hopeful news, OP needs a friend in O2 IT Dept who does not mind helping a brother out.

    More unhelpful drivel.

Where did I state that it was still open? Read it correctly.

What was the point of your unhelpful post then, as I'm sure that it means absolutely nothing to the OP who has trouble accepting fact.

Why don't you just shut up and move on.

This is a discussion forum and I was discussing the O2 mail server and FYI it was still accepting connections from my email client right up until December 16th - a whole 4 years after the original closure announcement.

    Unhelpful drivel.
