Hi, at my local cake decorating shop they usually sell boxes with Christmas patterns on, fairly inexpensive - about £1 each xLloyds TSB Personal Loan £17,000 £961.45 £0 :j
Barclaycard £4,897.38 £3359.29
Virginmoney £3,000 £2299.00 :eek:0 -
£1 each would be perfect. The tins I've found on the internet were £7.95 minimum. I'm not sure we have a cake decorating shop near here but maybe I'll find something between now and xmas. Thanks for your reply.:)0

Don`t know whereabouts you are but there`s one in Coalville High St called Sugar & Ice( I think). Opposite side of the street to the library0 -

I'll definitely give this a try! Yes, the tins being re-usable was what I was hoping for so that I'd be giving a useful gift as well as an edible one.0 -

I think I'm about 20mins drive away from Coalville but I'll try and find out about them & their prices. They may be worth a visit for a bulk-buy trip.0 -
I'm not sure I would do an 8" cake, a 7" will look generous if it's iced and nicely decorated and packed."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

You could consider cellophane wrap, if the boxes work out too expensive. There are always a number of different patterned rolls available on Ebay : http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1311&_nkw=cellophane+wrap&_sacat=See-All-CategoriesI have no signature.0

I buy a locally made (for charity) christmas cake every year; they're always on a board and wrapped in cellophane which is gathered at the top and tied with pretty curled ribbons. The cello is usually clear with silver or gold stars. They always look really pretty and christmassy... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

If postage costs were low when you bought a few this could be ok value http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8-Square-DoubleThick-Cake-Board-8-Wedding-Cake-Box-/260758551851?pt=Uk_Crafts_Cake_Decorating_MJ&hash=item3cb66bbd2b#ht_606wt_10370
