Unbelievable feeling. Can't wait to start hitting my mortgage now. Phoned up today to get details for making overpayments, so ready to make my first PAD towards that tonight :)

    Hi all
    Can i return please?..
I have been missing in action saving an emergency fund.:j
I cant pay off much but i do check my banks daily so figured even if i did a round down every day that would still mount up by the end of the month to pay off CC no 1 which is 0% until 2019.

Of course, welcome back :) As you say, every little helps. Good luck!
  • So I've set up a new savings account in my Halifax Online, specifically for Mortgage Overpayments, and have made my first PAD of £14.95 into there. With my CC, I would just make the PAD direct off that each day. With the mortgage overpayments I think I'll build them up in this savings account until I get a few hundred, and then make a one off PAD. I can make £3,350 of overpayments between now and 01/08/2018 without incurring any charges, so don't think that'll be anything to worry about :rotfl:

So day 1 of my new adventure...£14.95 towards my mortgage :)

As November draws to a close - I've really enjoyed doing this daily, and look forward to doing so again - but we now need a volunteer to tot up the totals throughout December. Any takers?
