£1 PAD for me to debt please
As for smoking @Tiddlyteddy , it’s an attraction that has always been a real mystery to me so can’t really offer any motivational tips sorry.
£300 extra a month would have your Halifax card clear before Christmas.
It’s another mystery to me how people afford to smoke.
Good luck with giving up. Hopefully one day you will just feel ‘ready’ and go for it27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 54 -
@Tiddlyteddy I used to smoke but gave up about 15 years ago. I mucked about with Nicorette which didn't work. The only way for me was going cold turkey and it took about nine months before the cravings completely subsided. It was really unpleasant giving up which was what stopped me going back to the habit. 300 quid a month remaining in your pocket would be luverly.3

Morning all, my PAD is £32.87 to Sky Mobile.
Well @Tiddlyteddy, the first time I was properly smoking, I was at uni because everyone else was doing it (as you do) and I was smoking around 20 a day whilst writing my dissertation towards the end of uni. The price went up one day and I just didn't have enough, being the broke student that I was, that I just quit there and then as I wanted to buy alcohol for raving more than I wanted to smoke 😂. Oh the joys of youth lol. I started smoking again when I was working and could enjoy it without penny pinching, but then I found out I was pregnant and I stopped immediately and I've never really bothered since, and my son's nearly 16. Over the years, I've been a social smoker as a treat when I went out for drinks or if my sister came round and we'd huddle on the patio and have a gossip and glass of wine. But even that holds no appeal anymore. So I can't really offer any quitting tips, other than cold turkey like @IndiJonesi did. You'll get your 'why' or compelling event/circumstance that will be enough of a motivation to quit. As if it was monetary, you'd be able to just do it knowing that like @AntoMac said, your Halifax could be cleared by Christmas. So I think you should either bulk buy your cigarettes and slowly reduce your budget per month and the amount you buy and smoke to wean yourself off, and put the difference you've saved towards a debt, or go cold turkey. I'm not sure what those stop smoking programmes are like, but they may be worth a try?

Start internet dating, claim to be a non-smoker, meet a person who doesn't want to date a smoker, fall in love, get married, keep up the pretence and soon you'll forget you ever were a smoker! (And save a fortune!!)
