I don't normally post on these threads. I call them 'navel-gazing threads' and I don't like them because I think we should just get on and discuss issues rather than discuss discussions.

    So anyway...:D

I think this weekend belongs to Mr_Urdd (aka scully). He has wiped the floor with MSE, trolling non-stop without any let or hinderance from the abuse team.

Two things have dismayed me this weekend. One was that thread about muslim toilet habits. It was, from the start, a clear breach of Martin's rule about no anti-muslim threads. Yet it was allowed to run for over 100 posts over 24 hours before being deleted. That was a shameful dereliction of duty by the abuse team.

The other thing was the permission given earlier this afternoon to more Madeleine McCann threads. All we are asked is not to bicker among ourselves. Never mind the cruelty and indecency of the things people say about her parents. I'm ashamed of the site for that permission.

For a long time, I've agreed with Q's view that we should stay and fight and try not to let the trolls drive us out. This weekend has made me think again. If we cannot rely on the support of the abuse team to keep this place clean, we have no chance.
Eh?? I give up!! Towel is getting thrown in here! :D

greenwich I agree with you on this. However please note that at the weekend there is hardly anyone of the abuse team in the office, so that reported threads/posts would not be seen until Monday. At least this is how I understand it, which may well be wrong.

Erm seriously though, forums get tired they allways go round in circles I been on em for around ten years and not seen one yet that doesnt just regurgitate the same old stuff.

Even the maddalain maccan thing, kids have gone missing before.... same topic different kid thats all.

The only really new topics have been smoking ban (b@stards) cos thats new and the 9/11 cos they have been unique.

Apart from that its the same old !!!!!! different day which is why people come and go and slowly move on to new places cos theres new people to have a laugh with.......i remember laughing, but im over that now, just spite and nastiness from me now on.

You spelt that right, nelly! :T :p

Just select User CP from the menu at the top of the page then choose Buddy/Ignore Lists and you can avoid ever seeing any mention of Vitamin D ever again and with a bit of luck you'll never find out Vitamin D supplements may boost life expectancy - Saga
