The great bank robbery - Lloyds Bank

I contacted Lloyds bank by telephone at the end of 2015 regarding my mis sold package account and was told I would receive a letter which I never did.
I called and was told that my complaint had been rejected but still didn't receive the letter. I asked again for the letter to be sent out and it wasn't. I called again still no letter, so I wrote to them, but was totally unaware that there was a 6 month limit to escalating my complaint to the Ombudsman.
Again there was no letter, so called about three times and asked that the letter be sent to my nearest branch as there seemed to be a problem with sending it to my address.
I went to the branch yesterday and got the letter and I am so angry, I realise that Lloyds deliberately withheld the letter so that the 6 months can pass and they are now saying that they wont give permission for the ombudsman to investigate.
Its the great bank robbery all over again, this time the banks are deliberately defrauding their customers.
I will still complain to the ombudsman but I want to take Lloyds to court if the Ombudman hand's are tied. Has anyone else experienced this with Lloyds bank? So angry.

Have you checked that the address Lloyds hold for you is correct? If it's not then that's why you didn't receive letters posted to you, if it is then it's at least as likely that it's a problem with your mail delivery as it is a deliberate policy by Lloyds to prevent you making a complaint.0

That's conspiracy theory b*llocks I'm afraid. Lloyds, as Britain's biggest bank by market share, sends out probably hundreds of final responses every day. The idea that they would have particularly withheld yours, or are systematically not sending out something they are required to do by regulations, is laughable.
Wouldn't trouble yourself, anyway; FOS rarely uphold packaged account complaints.urs sinserly,

But you can still formally complain about the delay in receiving the correspondence about Lloyds rejection of your claim. Because the delay has lost you the facility to demand compensation for misselling, you'd make that loss the grounds for compensation.
And if Lloyds use the same delaying tactics again, you could claim compensation for the loss of the opportunity to claim compensation for the lost opportunity to claim compensation for misselling.
Alternatively, why not respond to one of those uninvited telephone calls we all seem to get offering you compensation for misselling?0 -

No you wouldnt. The complaint was rejected. So, no compensation is payble. The appeals process is what is being refused access to. The FOS only uphold around 11% of packaged bank account complaints. Many of those have a clause in their contracts which allow them to charge for people wasting their time and creating unnecessary work. If the OP used one of those, they could be charged under that.
The CMCs use the same complaints process individuals use. All they do is stick a stamp on the envelope containing their template or form version to the same address. The bank would get it and reply saying they have already had a complaint and refer back to their original decision.
What the OP should be doing is going back to Lloyds and say they never received any communications and ask ask Lloyds to waive the timebar. They could go to the FOS and ask them to ask on their behalf. Lloyds would check the address they posted them to and if the address is correct, they will refuse access to the FOS. If the address is wrong or some other blocker identified that prevented the letters going out, they will waive the timebar.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
