What was it you were being asked to train for?

So you decide you don't want to be trained in something which your employer is perfectly entitled to train you in because you've never done it! Do you realise what you are saying?

Yes i do realise this. It's hard to explain, buts its not just a new task, my whole day will now be completely different. Its like I've applied for a whole new job within the same workplace but still comes under my job title.
Its not only this that annoyed me, it was more the fact that they claim that everyone will be trained for this, but i know this is a lie. As ive always worked with no complaints and never said no to anything theyve asked before, they think im an easy target for the jobs noone else will do.

What you've done is probably misconduct - what job do you do? (this can affect how it's viewed).

For example if you are the safety officer on a production line and walking away has put someone's life at risk, that is viewed differently from if you're an admin clerk doing filing or typing transcriptions.

What you should look at is that resigning as they are asking you looks better on your CV than being fired for misconduct.

As you are leaving, then they will need to calculate your final pay to reflect holidays taken - ie what they owe you, or you owe them.

If you don't follow proceedure - put your notice in writing - then your pay will be wrong!

The OP has refused to be trained in something which is already in their job description, has then walked out. They have also been working for the employer for less than 2 years.
I don't think it takes an Einstein to work out the end result.

No one from HR or even my manager is in until Monday. It was my supervisor that said it must be in today even though they dont have the facilities to amend pay. Im assuming they want it in writing so they know what Im doing.

I refused training just as many of my colleagues have. Some get away with not doing it because they kick up a fuss. This is what annoyed me enough to walk out.
As for your comment regarding being an employee for less than 2 years, 2 years is a long time to work for this place in my job role. They have a very high turn over of staff because of situations like this. Unfairly treated.

This is no different from many jobs. Where I worked, the introduction of PCs meant typists were no longer required, so they were all redeployed in clerical roles. In Lidl, cashiers will deal with shelf stacking and helping at self service tills when not required to perform cashier duties.

As I said my job changed many times in my career as did my colleagues'
