Common sense would be to buy a bargain when you see it not to wait then try to buy it a few days later

Every item in every shop, ever, is only available in limited quantities.

Do you need a forum to point that out to you?

Looks like JL have a few staff on this site!

Just because people don't agree with you, you seem to think they are "employees" of John Lewis?

    Yeh right!!!!!

So if I had a Bosch dishwasher and I hated it, but someone else said they were amazing and out of this world yet I still disagreed, I would then automatically say they worked for Bosch?

    Get a grip.

It seems to be a trait on this site for the regular posters to try to abuse or belittle OP's, no wonder they are assumed to be shills.

Nonsense. I generally find people here extremely helpful. If there is a genuine consumer rights issue people fall over themselves to help. Sometimes the answers aren't what people want to hear, and sometimes people ignore the advice given and sometimes people come here expecting others to cheer them on when they're clearly in the wrong.

There does seem to be a growing trend of entitlement and drama though, it is often necessary to cut through the emotion when dealing with consumer rights issues. I suspect many regulars grow weary after a while.

My M.I.L regularly regales us with stories of her bargains at John Lewis in Cambridge. Never underestimate the power of politeness when trying to strong arm a discount out of a retailer. I imagine that would work better in store than on the phone but you never know.
