63 plate volvo xc60 - Volvo Selekt - getting nervous about car history
Comments
-
The Volvo Selekt scheme specifies, that history of vehicle is checked. This is taken from their website.Every Volvo Selekt car has a history and provenance check carried out and has to pass over 100 checks to meet Volvo's safety, performance and appearance standard
I will be asking for this check to be made available to me. But I think I will have to rely on my checks to satisfy myself whether any repair work has ever been carried or I can ask dealer as part of Selekt programme to give me assurance that no accident repair work has been carried on the vehicle.0 -

Well that's unrealistic, it's rare for a car to get through the factory and into to showroom without needing at least some cosmetic repairs.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

In normal circumstances you are right...it will be unrealistic. But having discovered the fact they car was involved in £15k claim, which as others have suggested might not suggest car was damaged. but in worst case scenario if had repair works carried. I think it would be fair to investigate further.0

I'd run a GOOD HPI check on it now, and see if anything pops up.
It should come back clear.
If it doesnt - or it bothers you that it "might" have had significant accident damage at some point, just walk.0 -
If you carry on with this car you will always have a niggling doubt at the back of your mind.
Peace of mind is worth more than a good deal - walk away - plenty more fish in the sea.:hello:0 -

I called insurance company to get a quote for this car. The agent dropped a bombshell and asked me whether I was involved in 15k fault claim made against the vehicle registered in the claim.
The dealer said, car is absolutely clean and checked under Selekt programme. So not Insurance write off.
Surely for claim of 15k to be made against driver in this car, the car would have had been in a significant incident or there can be other reasons.
What do I do guys. I am getting really nervous about the situation. It is hard earned 17.5k we are spending. We have a baby due in 3 months time, can do without this hassle.
The vehicle is sold under Volvo Selekt scheme.
And why did it need " brand new reworked alloys" Tyres I can understand but all 4 wheels?0 -

Did the insurance company elaborate any further? That's a pretty big claim.
Does/did it have a private plate on? Are they definitely talking about the same car?0 -

Let me know when you find one.....Je suis sabot...0 -

I'd like to know which insurance company would allow its operators to divulge potentially confidential/sensitive details of claims connected to a vehicle to a stranger ringing up for a quote.
I find it hard to believe that's a real scenario.0
