The OP asked what rights they have. You only have rights based on what actually happened, not what could have happened.
Dont like to speak on behalf of others but having seen quite a few of hitoall's posts, i suspect there is sarcasm in the post.0 -
Is there any point me continuing? feels like i'm being interrogated now and called a liar.0

I think at the end of the day you asked what you could get & the response was refund or replacement (repair possibly but I think you'd be sent a replacement). Obviously some posters have taken it a little OT but take a refund if you want it, likewise with a replacement.Dwy galon, un dyhead,
Dwy dafod ond un iaith,
Dwy raff yn cydio’n ddolen,
Dau enaid ond un taith.0 -
The tag line will have annoyed people. 'Hasbro toy broken, what can I do'or something relating to the actual issue rather than 'toy almost hurt my son' which probably isn't true.
Plus chances are a child breaks a toy. As stated already you cannot possibly have watched him 100% of the time playing carefully and softly as that isn't real life.
It's bad that it broke to the point of their being a sharp wire, and that is why you can almost certainly get a refund. But your son MAY have broken it. And your son wasn't hurt. So that's all.0 -

Asking questions to establish the best route for you to take. Suppose you can call it an interrogation. Not calling you a liar, ive been trying to hint that children dont always tell the truth but thats not majorly important.
Dont mean to carry on the interrogation but what are you trying to achieve?
A product recall and you would need to prove that the product is inherently dangerous.
Compensation would be similar.
A refund or replacement will be more or less what youve put.
Hasbro to take more care in the making of their products, you would need to show that its in their best interests.
Apologies if im condescending but my responses are normally aimed at the lowest common denominator and i dont know what your trying to achieve?0 -

I just let one rip. I could have lit it but didn't ... can I sue M&S because my trousers might have gone on fire if I had done so?
