E-On New Tariff Increased Again
My fix with E-on is due to end in March, it has been a very competitive tariff for the last year, so I expected an increase in my prices.
Checked on Monday and they had introduced a new tariff Saver v4 this was £1002 pa, an increase of £250, checked this morning v4 now gone Saver v5 now and this has increased again now and is now £1028 pa.
Do they really think people will sign up for such a large price hike? Doing comparisons I can save £135 by switching.
Malc you mention the " powers to be" are looking at your comments about the number of dissatisfied customers and are looking at new pricing structures.
From the way they continue to introduce new tariffs which are clearly uncompetitive suggests your reports are being ignored. lol

5.3M customers when I last looked with c.70% still on the standard variable tariff having never switched. If 100K took up the last collective switch, then I doubt that grumbles from about 2% of the customer base is really going to have that much effect on Corporate thinking/pricing. It needs a fair proportion of the SVR customers to move to give management any reason for concern imho.
That said, it does give poor old Malc and Helena continued bad days at the office. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Not just EON, all prices are rising.
EON are the cheapest big six for me, and by quite a considerable gap!0 -

What on earth is EON playing at with these really minor adjustments to tariffs in quick succession? They remain totally uncompetitive. I keep looking at the EON reps' comments but it appears a lost cause with EON now!
I do notice more and more people switching away from them on this site. They will be watching their stats I'm sure, but obviously not prompted to take any action......yet! If and when they do it will prove too late for them and us!
The EON PTB are obviously turning their deaf ear towards their site reps. So be it!0 -

Hello FOREVER21 and you're right. Our Saver Fixed 1 Year version 4 tariff was replaced this morning with version 5.
Whilst electricity in all regions is cheaper than version 4, in eight regions the gas has gone up. Looks like you're in one of these regions.
Sorry this isn't what you want and I can't offer a suitable alternative with us. Helena and I will keep feeding back though.

Don't worry Hengus, we've broad shoulders. Essential in this industry.

For eveyone that wants to leave Eon, there is probably someone else that wants to join
e.g.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5587931
Reality is though, that it's only people like us MSE'ers that ditch & switch regularly - the vast majority of people do not.
Ofgem recently revealed that 66% of all households are still on standard variable tariffs

OP - you obviously know what you should be doing. It's exactly the same gas & electricity you receive, irrespective of who you decide to pay for it - the only thing that differs is how much you pay for it. (and perhaps the customer service you receive in return)0 -
Ohhh, this is just cheap enough for me (with elec only) to make it not worth switching to any of the other fixed priced tariffs available when my fixed tariff runs out on the 14th Feb.
Just to confirm Malc/Helen: Do exit fees still only count if you leave eon, not switch to another tariff you have? (I'm still optimistic you'll end up winning one of the collective auctions in the next few weeks!)0 -
This one is a bit cheaper (£3.15 a month) than the previous tariff, but still not enough to keep me.3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux0

As your tariff ends 14th Feb, you cannot incur early exit fees now (which hopefully you have been informed of by the supplier)
Of course, if you agree to a new tariff then early exit fees may apply to that - but if that situation does develop with Eon, simply transfer to their standard variable tariff (which never has early exit fees) and switch from that
Eon do not charge early exit fees when transferring from one of their tariffs to another of their tariffs.0
