Free Unlock codes for Nokia Phones 7 (U.K. Networks Only)

I am trying to unlock my Nokia 6230i. It is provided on an Orange contract.
I do not have any data cables.
The IMEI is 356645007712492
When I try the codes on tryktill I get the message Enter restriction code.
What is that?
I have put an old (out of date) O2 SIM in which I understand is necessary for the unlocking procedure?

Wow, JAYMARSH2005 you are really the man! Thank you so much. All done and working fine. Can I ask you where you got that particular code from as when I looked at Tryktill I couldn't find one for a 6230i, only a 6230!

I have got software on my computer for generating the codes, some of the online calcs dont generate the correct codes correctly as you have to alter the settings for different phones, glad I have been able to help you xx

With a Non Orange sim in the phone enter this code

Unfortunately, after entering the code, it then came up "Cannot Undo Restriction" and then back to "Phone Restricted"

That means some incorrect codes have already been tried on the phone and it is hardlocked, it needs to be unlocked by cables and hardware.

That's true ... I tried a few (free) online code calculators before finding this thread on MSE. Wish I'd looked on here first
