Hi Moneysavers!

I've an old Nokia 6230 which I use as a PAYG back up phone (with Vodafone), but am keen to change it to an O2 PAYG phone to take advantage of their £7.50 per month Broadband offer.

I did try a few weeks back to use one of the software packages to generate some unlock codes but none of them worked. I didn't even get any sort of message either when I put the codes in - nothing happened at all!

Does anyone have the correct unlock code please for my particular model?

The IMEI is 355039000451970 & the software version if that helps is V 05.35 03-02-05 RH-12

Wow! That was a lightning fast response JAYMARSH!

In the circumstances then, if I only get one shot at it, should I get an O2 sim card first before I try or should it work ok with the existing Vodafone one in there?

No enter the code with a sim card that is not accepted at the moment, so if you want to go onto O2 put and O2 sim in the phone when you enter the code, you have to enter the code as follows

1. To show p in the phones display - just press * three times within two seconds.

2. To show w in the phones display - just press * four times within two seconds.

3. To show + in the phones display - just press * twice within two seconds.

It will say a message after the final digit of the code, if it doesnt then enter the code without a sim in the phone. You have to enter it without spaces as well. any difficulties then email me, but that code will work.

Sorry, no remote codes for this phone as it's a ASIC 11 needs direct unlock, or contact your network provider.

Direct unlocking means using cables and hardware, yes you will be able to get it done at a market stall, will cost between £5-£10
