Thomson Airways only allow 5Kg hand luggage, unless you have Premium seats or are on a fly/cruise holiday.
And Cathay Pacific and Qatar - among the best airlines in the world - have a 7kg limit (in Economy).

Yes but you're not paying to put a case, or two, in the hold.

You are. They've included the cost in the price of the ticket, so everyone has to pay for checked luggage, whether they want it or not.

Not explicitly, and far less reason to carry large amounts in hand luggage.
  • Of course. Cathay don't do short haul so to be fair - almost no one would not need a checked bag.

And so imagine how relaxing it is not fighting to get you just permitted bag into the lockers. And I imagine they can cut turnaround time.

But, of course you are paying indirectly for the cost of your bag being transported.
I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!

A rather old thread with the OP asking about Thomas Cook hand baggage weight seems to have been woken up with another comment about Cathay Pacific?

A rather old thread with a new comment has been commented on :-) and the comment was even relevant to the last point made.

..but not relevant to the thread.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Er well why have you made that comment about me alone when I actually tagged onto the comments by HoofeHearted, Pollycat, bigadaj, or leylandsunaddict.
If you are going to be quite so OTT - you should chide everyone.

Possibly because they all added comments at the time the thread was active back in January, but you have waited until Mid-May to add a pointless comment?
