It was dropped during transit and the corner was crumpled; unusable.
It's cost me about 5 hours in phoning and trips to the laundrette.
Main problem is Curry's don't care.
By the time the replacement gets here it will be 3 weeks from the online order!!!
My story is on Trustpilot. (Currys)
I will never use Currys PC World ever again.

I set up a facebook page Currys pc world reviews. I'd like to make this experience and YOUR experience known to as many people as possible. Search facebook and please post there as well as here.

Guardian did a story on experiences like this 2 years ago if you google it

I understand you've had a bad shopping experience, but what do you hope to achieve by starting a Facebook group about it?

Clearly, you are going to receive a replacement item in a few weeks. What is it in addition that you want Currys to do? Certainly you could request that they pay for your laundry bills caused by the delay, but does that require a Facebook group?

I started a facebook page because the more their customer services standards are seen in more public places the better chance there is of Currys paying attention and sorting the issue.
Posting here is too limited, when I searched for complaints, only the usual trustpilot and usual sites came up - no blogs etc

So to the outside world Currys looks rosey. I'm hoping that the FB page may even show up on a google search at some stage.

It took Currys 3 days to respond after 3 calls, and a formal complaint. During those 3 calls I had (a) been told the repacement had been booked (b) told the replacement had not been booked I need to wait up to 3 days for a call to book it in (c) I was told a manager would ring me next day.

So with all this 'misinformation' I had requested a refund through the paypal account I used to purchase the machine (I always use paypal as it doesn't cost and their process is far easier than hanging on the phone to Currys yet again).

So although a replacement is booked, as far as I'm concerned I want rid of Currys. I don't trust them to (a) turn up on time (b) deliver a machine in good condition.

Simple response is that you should simply not shop there any more. Not sure why you are now attempting to start a vendetta against them..

Might be different if you had several such experiences and the company failed to resolve them...
  • Thank you for your wisdom.

It's just occurred to me that all 3 TVs in my house are from 3 different branches of Currys (which wasn't the case before my 5yo put a toy through the previous lounge set, but I digress).

All 3 were well priced for what they are, and work fine. I was expecting to be pushed into ancillary insurance etc but this did not really happen.

Perhaps the moral of the story is: just get on with the simple business of selling TVs and people will come back!
  • I too have just been burned by Curry's customer service. Long story short, bought a tv less than two weeks ago on a "deal must end Monday" "offer" in my local store. Logged on last week to find the same set with a base price of £200 less than the offer price. I have complained, but have been told that the stores are independent of the on-line side which means they won't honour the price difference. A good way to lose my future business I suppose!
  • The online selling sides of businesses often sell goods cheaper than their high street stores. They can do this because they don't have to cover rent, rates, high utility bills etc.
If you stopped shopping at all businesses that did this, your purchasing options would be severely limited.
  • When the item that I bought soon went faulty, I searched, online, for Currys PC World Customer Services, and was pointed to Resolver, which is supported/recommended by MSE.

But Resolver has proved to be a waste of time. In other words, MSE is not doing customers, of Currys PC World any FAVOUR, but is effectively being an accomplice to a TIME-WASTING EXERCISE.

Shame on MSE. Shame on Martin Lewis. Is he getting a payback for promoting the Resolver time-wasting exercise?

Shame that some people can't write a simple letter without resorting to a template or somebody else to do it for them.
