Stranger parking in my car port

Good afternoon all,
I am having an issue with strangers parking in my car port. I don't own a car but I do own a motorbike, my access to my lock up is through my car port. I'm not an unreasonable person but it's not like those who are parking on it are asking my permission and yes the car port I assure you is part of my land and it's also extremely clearly part of the rear of my garden etc. There is plenty of non-permit parking around the area in short walking distance so it's not like they are desperate; just lazy and selfish.
So what are my rights? It has happened three times where I have found the owner of the cars at different houses; once I couldn't find the owner until the next morning when I was going to work. Can I get these vehicle towed? Its the only way they'll learn. I don't want to waste police time. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Chain across the car port, or bollard, to stop cars accessing?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Assuming you've spoken to the car owners and politely asked them to refrain from using your land, then you could report them for trespass. However, it's not a straightforward process :

The suggestion from Tigsteroonie is probably a whole lot cheaper and easier ! You can buy lockable bollards quite easily, here's just one example :

You could place a large heavy object on your drive, this would not impede access for your M/C."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

+1 for large heavy object in middle. Makes it impossible for a car to get on, but easy to get your bike in and out.
Bollard would do the job, and you can then unlock it if you need to get a car in/have visitors.
What about a gate?0 -
I'd agree with a chain or bollards myself.
That takes the biscuit for nerve - bad enough for a stranger to try parking on a drive...but to do so in someone's car port = nerve of the devil.0 -
I'd get a lightweight chain across the entrance and hang a simple sign on it with the house number on it. (bit of cornflake box, black pen, splash of PVA glue over the top). I say lightweight as you could even affix that with a bit of gorilla tape if you've not got fixings available
Some people are just farquin rude and think "he doesn't use his space, I will.... because I'm special"....0 -

£27 delivered. Will need bolting down - they'll sell appropriate fixings for that too.0 -
Did you really need someone to tell you to put up a barrier of some sort?0

I'd also put a notice on there car informing them that if they want to avail of future offroad parking then you would be happy to provide a key for the chain in return for £20 a week in advance.Norn Iron Club member No 3530
