Hi, I hope its ok posting like this.
I was going to switch to BT Broadband Infinity 1, 50mb, basic TV, phone line and mobile (moving from Virgin) it was a very good deal but I have read very poor reviews online and 'WHICH' are scathing about them.
What do people think? Any advice or opinions would be very welcome. Thank you.

I never had a issue with them, save for the switch from Sky at the start. But that was due to Openreach outsourcing the job to a 3rd party contractor who had no idea what they were doing.0

You can easily find terrible reviews of every ISP. If you like the deal go with BT and hope that if you have any problems they are sorted out OK.0

Been with them for years and never had a problem.0

Thanks TadleyBaggie for your very helpful reply.
Thanks wongataa, yes thats what I suspected-you can always find criticism of ISPs.:)
And thank you lee111s, just what I was hoping to hear.:)
I cancelled the transfer yesterday as I was panicking about it but BT are going to contact me to discuss it so I will probably go with them after all.
Thanks again for all your replies, I really appreciate it.0 -
We were with them and while the actual broadband was okay when working, we kept having line faults ,so often, the signal would drop and no phone . We asked them constantly to look into it (I think over a 2 year time span) and they kept on telling us it was not the line.
Anyway after much putting it off, we finally decided to move away from them and told them so..They were adamant we were still in contract so we said in that case, come and sort out the line or modem (which they kept blaming for the faults), funnily enough, they agreed we were out of contract after all so we said well then,we wish to take our phone number with us and we will be leaving as soon as we sort it...to which we were told 'oh you cant you are in contract'....and repeat.
We did leave and joined sky who found a fault on the line and had the (openreach who are the same people BT use) engineer come out and fix it straight away.
I don't know what their customer service is like now but it was the most frustrating and head banging experience every single time we needed to contact them, even when querying problems with a free broadband dongle which was faulty. They went through some sort of irrelevant trouble shooting script which if it did not solve the problem by a miracle, was our fault. While the product when working sounds fantastic, the communication is just not worth the stress.0 -
I find their customer service to be terrible. I dread ever having to phone them for anything, but then that's not just broadband related, but dealing with them for just about anything. However, I have no complaints about the Infinity product itself, it's been pretty consistent and reliable for me.0

ok when things are fine , which they are normally , but atrocious when you need to speak to them or get any sense out of them
on my 2 occasions dealing with them this year I've been consistently lied to or stuck in the "script loop" ( I've had my line tested 3 times today as I've had to speak to them 3 times about closed faults that were not cleared , they insist in doing the line test each time) ....my broadband is dropping out up to 5 times an hour
the 2nd customer service girl was bordering on rude while dealing with meEx forum ambassador

That was me as well. Then I had a problem. They were absolutely atrocious when I needed them most, in fact they were beyond that and then some. It's not until something goes wrong that BT shows its true colours.
I immediately switched to Virgin, (I was lucky to have the option), and will never go back to BT even if they are free. They were that bad. No ownership, no call backs, hours of waiting to talk to people who appeared to hate me, no fixes by engineers, (4 attempts over 10 days). When the service went down they literally couldn't give a s***.

Tiptoes in having just shifted to BT today! All seems well, set up laptop, ipad, phone and TV, fingers crossed. Thats what happens when you stay in on NYE and see an ad for a good deal
ETA, its a smart TV I've set up not their TV service. Its not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0
