This is disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. Now they really need to focus on some market-leading tariffs.Outstanding Debt at 01/01/2020

It has been omitted, customers on fixed tariffs have 2 years to exchange their points. They have longer as this was agreed in the terms and conditions of their tariff.
Customers on the Standard Energy Plan tariff, need to exchange them by 30 June 2017.

See highlights below:Morning edinburghlad and you're right. We're withdrawing our Rewards scheme from 31 March 17. Customers won't be able to opt in from 1 April 17. Thought it might help to add a bit of information about what will happen.
Customers on our standard Energy Plan tariff will keep earning Reward points up to 31 March 17. They'll need to exchange them for either Tesco Clubcard points or High Street Shopping Vouchers by 30 June 17.
It's a bit different for customers on Fixed Tariffs. Here, all the Reward points they would've built up during their fixed period will be given up-front. These customers have 2 years to exchange their points. They have longer as this was agreed in the terms and conditions of their tariff. We're writing to these customers at the moment to let them know.
We've also lowered the amount of points customers need to exchange for shopping vouchers. Previously, 500 points were needed to earn a £5 voucher. Now, customers can exchange for a £1 voucher when they reach 100 points.
Hope this puts some flesh on the bones. Let me know if any more information is needed as happy to help.

Sorry to disappoint but it's just not going to happen. They've already had more than enough time to do that and managed to come up with nothing even remotely competitive!

a spokesperson told us: "We regularly review our products and services and, although the E.on Rewards scheme is coming to an end, we remain committed to offering competitive prices as well as solutions and benefits that’ll help customers save energy and pay less."
And E.on still believes that it's "offering competitive prices".
If that was the case I wouldn't have jumped ship when the New Customer Only debacle prompted me to move away after being with E.on for many many years.

I made a BIG saving when i changed through Cheap Energy Club to Eon it has been a bonus to get Tesco club points, i hope they start a new scheme or focus on even better deals for the customer0

Eon appears to be in rapid decline now and it's hard to see what might be happening there.
If someone set out to sabotage a business they couldn't do a much better job. What with non-competitive tariffs, peeing off loyal customers by not offering them the best tariffs, insulting loyal customers by offering them Amazon vouchers if they stay on an expensive tariff so they are still hundreds of pounds out of pocket, introducing tacky games like 'spin the wheel', and now taking away the one decent thing that was left Eon Rewards.
If I were Malc and Helena I would start to look for another job with one of the competitors soon! Btw Flow Energy seems good.0 -

Morning fredandwilma and thanks for this. As you say, customers on eligible fixed deals who've opted in to our Rewards scheme have longer to exchange their points for either Tesco Clubcard points or Bonusbond shopping vouchers. These customers have up to 2 years to do this.
Customers on our standard Energy Plan who've opted in to receive Rewards need to exchange them by 30 June 17.
We've also lowered the number of points needed to exchange for Bonusbond vouchers. This is now 100 points for a £1 voucher.
MSE Andrew makes a good point in his article. Recent fixed tariffs aren't eligible for Rewards. These are Fixed 1 Year version 21 and Saver Fixed 1 Year version 4. Also, the Saver Tariffs for new customers only (withdrawn from sale on 28 October 16) didn't have Rewards.
Thanks again fredandwilma.

Glad you've found our Rewards scheme useful Deleted_User. Not sure what we're doing going forward yet. We're looking at various possibilities as we plan a new product portfolio for 2017. Our website is the best place to see anything new as this is where changes are usually posted first.

Thanks for the tip foreversummer. Think we'll hang on for a bit though.

Malc
Thanks Malc.
Simplified, (i hope,) there are three scenarios:
a) Customers on E.on's standard Energy Plan who've opted in to receive Rewards, need to exchange them by 30 June 17.
b) Customers on eligible fixed deals prior to the recent new tariffs, (and including relevant collective fixed tariffs,) who've opted in to E.on's Rewards scheme, have longer to exchange their points for either Tesco Clubcard points or Bonusbond shopping vouchers. These customers have up to 2 years to do this.
c) Recent fixed tariffs weren't eligible for Rewards. These are Fixed 1 Year version 21 and Saver Fixed 1 Year version 4. Also, the Saver Tariffs for new customers only (withdrawn from sale on 28 October 16) didn't have Rewards.
E.on have also lowered the number of points needed to exchange for Bonusbond vouchers. This is now 100 points for a £1 voucher, (previously 500 for a £5 voucher,) which makes it easier for you to redeem your points, as the scheme draws to a close.Fred - Where's your get up and go?
