Colorado/Yellowstone/Wyoming road trip - Aug 17?

Okay, so we're now looking at 2 weeks 'doing' Colorado. Got an itinerary sorted and a few provisional hotel bookings.
So now I need flight tips. Would prefer direct flights so that means BA. Currently coming in at £930 return for adults in Economy. Can upgrade to Economy plus for £250 each (return) which may be worth it.
Any way to get the base price cheaper? I have around £100 in tesco vouchers i could convert to Avios points - looks like I might get £110 per ticket (?) off that way. Any other options?
If I book via a partner site (saving around £100 per ticket) do I still get the upgrade option? That's very tempting!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I've got relatives all over the US, and we're flying out from Heathrow on the 17th August to Denver.
I bought our tickets online(2 kids aged 12 and 14,plus 2 adults), and although there is one stop they were just over £2,000 for the lot of us.
We're staying with someone halfway between Denver and Salt Lake, at a place called Fruita the first night, then staying at another place called Price, in Utah, and from there doing some of the state parks like Bryce and Zion. I'm also looking to go to Bonneville Salt Flats, plus do some road cycling in the mountains while the wife visits relatives!0 -

I'm travelling with a deaf OAP and a 6 year old. I want as little risk as possible, hence ruling out indirect flights!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Pikes peak is cool and it's definitely the best known "tourist" option however we thought Mount Evans Scenic Byway was more spectacular, especially for wildlife viewing along the way.
If you are flying in on the BA flight it lands around half five so if you don't want too drive too far once you've collected your hire car I can recommend the Embassy Suites at Stapleton. They were simple to get to and ideally situated off the freeway. Nice hotel with a managers reception every night and a great buffet breakfast included in the rate.

Michael Portillo American Railway Journeys last night had MP take a cog train up Pikes Peak (the views were spectacular). If anyone's interested it's probably available on iPlayerscottishminnie wrote: »Pikes peak is cool and it's definitely the best known "tourist" option however we thought Mount Evans Scenic Byway was more spectacular, especially for wildlife viewing along the way.Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -

Can anyone help with this? Just checked and upgrading costs have gone up to £750 per person. Are they likely to come back down???Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0
