I can’t tell you how familiar your OHs approach feels to me. My husband is exactly the same, the mere idea that there are extra funds such as not paying CT for him is a green light to maybe more spends or more take aways. My advice (and what I would do) is to put it out of reach and sight once it’s in. Keep plodding as you are. You paid a fee to obtain that 0% too I assume, if you clear now then surely that fee was money wasted. I think your approach is solid. Sometimes we need to speculate (or be hit with some OD charges) to accumulate (our own bonus and an improvement in future financial stability!). Thank you both. It's a little bit of collateral damage, I reckon.
I am just logging in because I am very excited because it is Bonus Pay Day Eve. I am not exactly sure what I will come out with, but I can't wait to see my current account tomorrow. I might set my alarm early, to look!
I have decided to- Pay £1300 off the Sansbo credit card which covers my big fat car repair so that seems fair (will take that down to £1300 remaining)
- Split the remainder between holiday fund, emergency fund and my current account
- Take us out for a nice dinner - £100 from my account
I keep wondering/panicking why we are not quite making it through each month- then I remember its this £700 credit card payment. It's probably too much. Thankfully it will be gone in a couple of months, if I pay this £1300. Yippee!

Hope you get a good bonus and put it to good use , but have a little reward for your hard work earning it.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.5

I do hope it was a joyous early awakening!
Sounds like planning to deal with it as you suggest - a balance between making things easier now, making things more secure for the future, and nice stuff!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

@EssexHebridean - it was! It was soo good. Better than I expected.
Have paid the £1300 off the credit card
And the rest all stashed about.
So effectively all gone!
Mr P wanted to splash out his small bonus on a steering wheel for playing his racing game on the Playstation. I encouraged it because otherwise, low key nagging will begin, also, means he is less likely to ask me about my bonus which is 6 times the size of his. I was able to cash in some Good Girl vouchers from work to pay for most of it, and stash the cash in my account too. So that is £250 towards to Dys0n a1rwrap I am going to buy myself if they ever come back in stock (this is the treat I was referring to a few pages back).
Since I last posted - good things- Have revised for and taken 2 exams for work
- Seen friends regularly
- Won at the bingo last night so the night out only cost us £8 in the end
- Had a nice day out in the peak district
- And at the weekend we all got together for a belated birthday celebration for my sister (she was on holiday on her actual birthday). Dinner at the beautiful local restaurant (my mum paid) then drinks, nibbles and games at mine in the evening. It was smashing.
- Small amount of progress with my Dad's probate
- Have doubled the direct debit to BG in anticipation of the big increases. I would rather get in front now
- I realised today that if you add up all the accounts, shares etc, we are less than £1000 away from being 'consumer' debt neutral. Which is very exciting. I am now wondering if this should be the main aim , and then just drawing a line under it all once this Sansb0 credit card is paid off, and just focus on the overall mortgage debt. I think @savingholmes, this might have been what you suggested. I would keep this diary of course.
- The nagging for a new car from Mr P has begun

No I haven't but I wanted to know what an air wrap was and that came up when I googled it.
A quick check suggests the web site was built in 2022 and is run out of a residential street in Waltham Forest in east London. It claims to have 10,000 satisfied customers and the words and music don't stack up. I just looked at the company name on Companies house and a dissolved company in Oxford came up (a quick check of the directors suggests a number of short duration companies). I definitely wouldn'tSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
