  • Morning Paws,

Ouch to losing the card, glad you got a new one quickly though.

I agree about the treats, it's easy to get carried away.

Yay! To getting your roots done....must do mine :o

Well done to moving the BC payment date, that'll help lots

  • If you have overspent , you just need to readjust . Think your right about the treats maybe one a week rather than 3 !

Nobody is perfect and it's all a learning curve. I am still learning and trying to reign myself in, which at the moment I am.

Hope you get your expenses back soon then you can get all your figures up to date.

The plan ws 2 treats A MONTH. I am making a real effort to keep debt busting FUN for the husband so he doesnt lose enthusiasm, but I am overcompensating.Time to cut it back

Oh no sorry about the cash card. That would totally worry me.

BT have just put our regular internet and phone deal upon by £3 a month. The only thing is last time we attempted to move providers it went very badly wrong. So now I'm scared of ever moving again!

You are voicing my fears. Not sure what I would do without the internet. What do you mean about badly wrong?
We moved to Plusnet (owned by BT but cheaper) last Autumn. I think we are on some sort of mini deal which might end imminently but so far our monthly bills have all been under £12 - but we did pay the line rental up front for the year (maybe £195?). That is £40-50 a month better than BT. We were offered a new Plusnet router or we could reconfigure the BT one (we chose a new one). Very reliable and very pleased.

    SL

We have a choice of BT, talk talk and John Lewis. No plusnet. It would need to be talk talk really.

When I called to cancel, they offfered the same deal for £38, I am now wondering if we should just take it. What do you good people recommend?

  • We recently changed to Sky when they had a brilliant deal plus huge cashback on - always worth doing the sum with cashback included. We have to put up with the odd bit of marketing mail from Sky (which I suppose we could stop if we tried hard enough), but we've never had Sky and don't particularly want it, so it's not even slightly tempting.

Sky isnt an option for us. I would probably go to them if I could, I am a fan of the TV.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Laughing at the what we call ourselves on here conversation. I think I am so engrossed in the MSE world that I have several times almost signed myself Bob in real world messages. How would one explain that? Oh autocorrect obviously ;)

Paws it is then, well. It was a few years ago now so the details are hazy. But BT had been charging us a fortune so I in a fit of annoyance found a cheaper provider think they were called Supernet? I rang and organised it all. In a nutshell the problem was that they didn't do fibre. So they sent us out a new router that was incompatible. Then we ended up in a 3 month long stand off with us saying we'd never have signed up had we known and them saying well you did sign up and we don't do fibre so you are stuck with the crappier deal.

In the end we went back to BT and begged them to take us back again.

Do you need fibre? Also, is anything else included like calls or TV?

We have standard BB unlimited plus unlimited UK calls from Talk Talk for £25 per month.

Our average speed seems quite low to some, but it's also way over what we need realistically for our biggest consumer, TV streaming.

Which is done through Now TV entertainment, £7 per month retail. In reality I shop around for deals when the boxes with passes are on sale or codes on HUKD, currently paying £1 a month for 3 months with a code found from there.
  • U smashed that list Paws - well done :T

Oh my gosh. Having to go back to BT cap in hand, aargh, that's an excruciating idea.

We have fibre at the minute, I don't think we'd want to downgrade. I want to read MSE diaries WITHOUT DELAY:D
