That Brexit vote gave me £50k.
Even better - I am paid in dollars$$$$:pIn case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
I'm getting very irritated watching the £ value of my $ stash oscillate from £292k to £303k over the space of a few weeks. It is completely masking the actual performance of the shares.0

That's always been the case though, its just more abrupt than normal at the moment. Doesn't your broker show you in base currency as well as Pounds?
Or put the numbers into a site where you can track them in the base currency. I use My.Yahoo's portfolio tracker, I'm sure there are a zillion others.0 -
It's a day for letting the staff tune in the radio, that's for sure.Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.0

Oh yeah. It's eTrade, it does all that. But the price in dollars goes up and you think Oooh goody, and then you turn it into pounds and you've lost money. Very irritating.0 -
It's a good speech so far.
I'm glad she's tapped into how "punishing Britain" will also punish all other EU nations, so it's in the best interests of everyone to deal with this properly, instead of dealing with is based on punishment.
Pounds rallying (so far!)0 -
Got to love Mays speech right now, she's telling the Eurocrats that if they act vindictively on negotiations, we'll be OK but their economies are screwed, so do it at your peril.0

Smashed it.
Most if not all remainer arguments put to bed.0 -

There's a few porkies in there but generally a decent speech I agree, and really the only negotiating position she can set out at present in the current political environment, at least its sounding more conciliatory towards the EU than Trump managed to, while setting out clear priorities.0
