    Good morning everyone

elona - I feel the pain re your decking my back step has rotted and my son is just off to B&Q to get the stuff to rebuild it. Unfortunately it's pouring today but he doesn't seem to mind getting wet:)

I'm not CFO today and it's a joint effort tonight. My contribution of pork ribs in a honey/soy marinade are in the slow cooker. I've got the easy option as both just needed lifted from the freezer.:) Meanwhile my son is going to have a bash at making HM spring rolls and will also do some veggie noodles as well. I'll act as kitchen assistant but hopefully I can just sit back and then pop the debris in the dishwasher LOL:D
Breakfast was an unhealthy couple of bite-sized pork pies and lunch will probably be LO salad from last night with some cheese and crackers. I opened a pack of smoked cheddar I bought at the food market a few weeks ago to pop a slice on top of the burgers. Boy was it tasty so don't think it will last long now:D
  • Back to it a bit on the food prep front.

Lunch today was toast and hummus, followed by chocolate flavoured coconut yogurt with blackberries and flaked almonds.

Dinner tonight - still under consideration. I saw some cooked crayfish tails yesterday and duly bought them (having not tried them before). Now wondering what I can do with them. Has anyone any ideas on that?

Lovely in a salad or open sandwich with marie rose dressing, or added at the last moment to a stir fry or added to potato and sweetcorn when just serving My favourite is melting some butter in a pan adding some chilli, garlic and spring onion and then adding the crayfish tails for a minute lovely with good bread to mop up the sauce:)

I feel I have had a productive afternoon all my tomatoes, chillies and cucumbers have been potted into bigger pots. It took me ages but hopefully it will be worth it. :)My consevatory does now resemble a garden centre - so I'll get some ribbing from my son later:o

    ..

That reminded me to get the last of my toms potted on, only 6 to do, Minibele for wall baskets. My garden path is a mini Garden centre at the moment, trays of bedding waiting for the daffs to die down a bit

"Breakfast was an unhealthy couple of bite-sized pork pies" Nice one. Sound like the sort of breakfast I would eat if they were around

As it happened it was no breakfast again, but good news is 2lb down from last Saturday's weigh in, quite a way to go though

Mixed multiple mooching this morning, first off was Home Bargains, nothing really for me in there this morning. Next up was over the road to M & S food, bingo, YS 200 grammes Wookey Hole mature Cheddar.

I bought some yonks back when visiting the Gorge and said Wookey Hole, and bought the cheese of course. This one was £1 down from £2.5, use by today, which considering it has been sat in a cave for months is obviously rubbish dating

Then Asda, and another YS 2 cheese large pizza, do for two days, not sure if will have it tonight or the veg lasagne, at the moment the lasgane has the edge

Because of this surplus I have now bunged one pack of fish cakes in the freezer, usual singles problem, food piling up but bargains still to be grabbed

Then noticed I have a pack of part baked baguettes in the cupboard, only two weeks past use by date, end of April, thus lunch was cheese salad baguette, using some of the WH Cheddar and the cut & come again living leaves bought during the week, very filling, hence my being a bit too stuffed & tomato cheesey for pizza tonight

Think I might try that with it then. Ta:)

I've got some craft focacia bread in. I've got some salad stuff in. I've bought some decent aioli today - having never tried that yet either:o. Looks like dinner tonight should be rather nice.:)

I buy my bedding plants as tiny plug plants - they too are in the conservatory until they are a bit bigger:o

    Enjoy :D

Lunch was lovely - stornoway black pudding, a rasher of crispy streaky bacon, 1/2 a large tomato, mushrooms and an egg with a slice of toast. This not CFO is rubbish on the waistline but as my son was braving the pouring rain to re-build my step I thought I would spoil him (and me) :D

The pork ribs are smelling divine .....

Hi there, I am posting to say thank you to whichever of you it was who mentioned the 'Meal in a Mug' cookbook. I ordered it online, perfect copy, £2.80 second-hand, arrived this morning.

I have been lurking on this thread since I followed the link from the MSE weekly email. I find you so helpful, I need to get my head around single (and appropriately sized) portions. I'm following the current posts as well as trying to catch up from the beginning.

    So, thanks again.

Breakfast - matcha tea, then coffee.
Lunch - (sorted and soon to be microwaved) vegetable stew from freezer with courgetti (home done) and rice cakes.
Dinner - (will be) shepherdless pie from freezer with broccoli and salad leaves.

    Will snack on fruit.

I have sorted out the fruit, and taken a home made nakd bar from freezer, I take for lunch at work. I pre do it so I just use a spork (I re-use the same one) as I can't bring myself to handle food without washing my hands thoroughly which takes too long at work. Being a cashier is not a clean job! I also have tomorrows breakfast soaking in the fridge; nutri-brex with coconut milk.

The OH is away and won't be back until just before I finish work tomorrow. Another reason for the microwave meals (need freezer space but yeah I'm not able to use the hob or oven without at least him supervising but usually him doing it all as soon as there is heat :().
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D

That chocolate flavoured coconut yoghurt sounds gorgeous :)

I love crayfish tails, especially with a salad. It is one of my favourite meals in the summer :j
