Ucking bar steward neighbours
I feel your pain, many's the day I'm "missing" between 4-7pm as I've got ball banging brats and squealing/screeching toddlers running riot just 20' from my open patio doors and they drive me to distraction and I have to leave and go park up and be all sad in a random car park.
It's not a kid-friendly place, there are no playing areas, there's no "street" - and there never used to be any. Then two houses of singles/couples vacated and were replaced by free-roaming annoyng kids at the same time, that then got other kids to come out and play with them ... in an area that's not a play area or even communal/public land, but the parking spots.0 -
Yesterday I ended up having a baked spud with cheese/beans for early lunch - and the rest of the day I just ate chocolate fingers (about 300 grams of them).
Today I'm tired of trying to work out what I could eat.... it's an endless task.0 -
Jumping on the band wagon once again (I do like you all doing the deciding for me!) I've had a burger in a bun tonight with ketchup, mustard and gherkin.
I had a burger toonuked in the nuke machine in a wholemeal sandwich thin with rocket, tomato and mayo.
Wasn't enough so then had another sandwich thin filled with crisps and mayo and a few more crisps on the side.
My freezer is now devoid of both burgers and sandwich thins'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
sandwich thins
I do hate those things. Tried a packet once, as they were reduced - and they're quite cardboard-like. They're not value for money either, compared to all the other bready choices... so I'll not have them again.
I'm starving .... I've got baking spuds (still .... as ever). I opened beans yesterday for that spud - and grated more cheese - so I've got beans/cheese so that will win today as it's easy.0 -
Morning everyone
No burgers on the menu here today:cool:
I think today is going to be pretty much a use it up day. I've just scoffed the extra boiled egg I cooked yesterday ( I re-heated it in a mug of boiling water for a minute) and a banana. I've a few slivers of beef left so a beef roll will be lunch. I made bubble & squeak mix last night and of course there it made loads, so I'll cook another portion tonight and have with sausages and freeze the rest. I do love it but three days on the trot would be too much especially as it was made from extra stuff I cooked on Sunday. Might open a tin of plum tomatoes to have with it:D0 -
I've had a good start to the day. Breakfast was toast with honey and a banana, and lunch has been a nuked sweet potato with cheese. I think the 1:1 ratio was wrong, less cheese next time lol. And I've already had a spinach and apple smoothie, I took it to physio with me.
Someone at physio brought some avocados, she'd won them in a raffle but doesn't like them, there were three of us who love them so we got one each, free food is always the best food!
I've just opened a jar of vanilla flavoured instant coffee that I've had for years, at least five. It's really nice though, hopefully I can use it up fairly quickly, but not replacing it will be a challenge.
I've taken some salmon out of the freezer, hopefully it'll have defrosted by tea time.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

.
I wholeheartedly agree on all counts.
First and last time purchase here too.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

I shuffled round the shops and got suckered into a poor purchase.
Sainsbobs £2 chilled pizzas are, in the main, fine - but they stopped doing the one I liked... when I was in there today their £2.40 ones were reduced to £2 and I got the "hot & spicy". Floppy, bit soggy .... most disappointing. Not that hot/spicy and I don't think there was any/much cheese on it .... not read the label to check if there should be cheese, but it didn't look like it had any when I noticed it after cooking it.
I have probably almost given up supermarket pizzas now .... so disappointing.
AND ... I normally cut them in half - but I ate the WHOLE thing! Worra biffer0 -

Same here today, Lidl failed to supply any inspiration with a RFQS meal for one, plus there was a lady with a huge piled up trolley heading for the checkout so I hobbled a bit more quickly and got in sharpish with my sole box of corn flakes and 3 bars of red label chocolate, that has soared nearly 30% to39p a bar
The last of the doughnuts provided breakfast as forecast
Freezer rummage found Waitrose Cumberland pork sausages, I think I bought them on offer in January, two now defrosting before bunging in Actifry, and I may chuck in some oven chips with them, which will either work or I will have the greasiest meal ever. Lashings of brown sauce should fix it
Just going back to salad stuff, I remember as a nipper we sometimes had dandelion leaves instead of lettuce, now I know we were dirt poor and eating lumps of coalbut this was at our posh rellies in Watford. I think it is a cheffy thing really but the young leaves should be fine, assuming you don't pick the ones where the dogs go of course:eek: I may just try some from the garden in a sarnie this week, with some cheese perhaps, and it will be my first crop from the garden this year

Afternoon everyone,
I've always thought about buying the thins shan't now will stick to wholemeal pitta bread which I really like.
I tend to find most SM pizzas disappointing (except the Tesco Spinach & Ricotta one which I find really tasty) and always need a bit of jazzing up:(
Ames - good result on the avocado, I seldom but them as they seem to either stay like bullets or turn to mush in a blink
Farway - don't know if they only sell it in Scotland but from tomorrow Mackays Ginger preserve is on offer at £1 (as is the rest of their range of jam & marmalade) and their stuff is pretty decent:D0
