Head north. Go on, I dare you.
I'm currently sitting in a house that I bought for £225,000 three years ago - double garage, utility, boot room, kitchen, living room, dining room, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. In fact, forget 4 bedrooms - we've got 4 floors. Oh, and we're 2 1/2 hours from Kings Cross.
There are plenty of houses round here for less than £200,000.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -

A boot room.

But yes, I'm envious. There are lovely houses on this thread for £200k that would cost £1m in London. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Those are some quite decent houses - though I'd personally replace the kitchens in nos 1 and 3 I can see. But at least it's not urgent...:).
EDIT; Boot room - sighs with envy.0 -

Just look at the broadband speed 7Mb/s no wonder it is this price
Broadband speed isnt everything you know:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Though I know I "screamed blue murder" until my broadband was finally sorted out to be what I know as "normal levels".:rotfl:
There are the plus sides - of lower pollution/not being overpopulated/no risk of fracking nearby/much lower risk of terrorist incidents. Been there/done that and that was part of the "positive" reasons for moving....
Admits to sitting there in total astonishment at the whole concept of people publicly suggesting "Come to our part of the country"....as I've come from an area that has been ruined by people doing exactly that.....grrr....0
