I am not sure where I read it (maybe even on here) but I saw a review in which somebody said that they got better photos (less speckles) from the 5200 when set at 3 mega pixels instead of 5 mega pixels. I only tried it on one subject yesterday when testing out the 5200 against the Minolta Z10 and the colours came out much richer on the 3 mega pixel setting. Anyone with the 5200 may want to try this - I would be interested to know if anyone does and gets better results too.

I failed the Experian check according to Boots, they did get authorisation from my CC however.

I'm fighting this one as I don't usually have any problems and I think they're just making an excuse up.

    Anyone, any thoughts ?

Why would they do an Experian check on you if you had paid by credit card

Never realised Boots did that - seems a bit OTT especially since your CC company has authorised it.

Having reread the T&C it looks like it might be true:
All credit and charge card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. We may also submit your date of birth and the value of your order to Experian Ltd. We will not be liable for any delays to your order this may cause. This information may be retained by Experian Ltd for future validation enquiries by other companies.

Do any other retailers do this?

I have had a lengthly discussion with boots & experian in the past regarding this and what they are saying is rubbish. Experian is only provide the information and how boots use it is down to themselves.

Boots are saying I failed the identity check ?????? I've lived here for more than 12 years, on electoral role, never have probs with credit elsewhere.

I've emailed the Chief Executive as I've received nothing but rubbish from Boots

They did have authority from the CC company anyway so not sure what's the problem. Wonder if I'll have problems getting credit now- I'll request my file from Experian but not sure if that will help me

Last time this happened to me I had entered my birth date on my wifes account. They blame experian but really its an internal problem so if I were you I wouldnt waste my time contacting experian. They did end up giving me £50 worth of points tho' so it is worth contacting them. The funny thing was I received the order anyway despite me 'failing' their credit check. :D

Well, the thing is, I should fail every time as I NEVER enter the same date of birth twice!! on any site.... too much info they don't need....if the credit card company say 'go ahead' then I don't see what Boots' problem is !!

Anyone who received there camera can you confirm when you take a video recording does it pick up the internal mechanism movement (ie refocusing), as mine does this and you hear it in the recording. Only happens when you move the camera not when its still, also sound quality seems very poor anyone esle noticed this. Great pictures though, might return it to Boots and have it checked out against one of there display models. Dont want to return it as I got it at that special price.
