scroll down, it is there.
500 drivers "fined"for parking in parent/baby bays etc.
Are coop right to try to get selfish drivers to park elsewhere?

Not just co-op carparks that issue charges for drivers parking in child/disabled spaces.
See other posts in this forum.
It isn't anything to do with them punishing selfish drivers, just part of the ppc model!0 -
the coop are fools , fools with bad memories and a lot less customers than previous
the test case Civil Enforcement Limited v Curtis A93YM708, and DEAL v Colclough A79YP365 were quietly paid off and deleted , leaving hundreds of motorists to pay upSave a Rachael

I wish journos would get their facts right. No fines were issued, neither were there any fixed penalty notices. The Beeb should be telling the truth and helping the local community on how to go about dealing with parking scammers.
I shall be emailing them a little later. It wouldn't hurt if others here did the same.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -

I wonder how many of those 500 drivers were actually allowed to use those bays, and how many of these "invoices" were actually incorrectly issued?0 -
The bit I liked was that they say they have yet to make money on this due to set up costs, later they say that soon all drivers will park in the correct bays, they only do it once. Great, however they forgot to mention they would then target anyone else they fancy.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Five-hundred parking tickets have been issued to drivers who parked in the wrong spaces at the Combs Ford Co-op over a 10-day period at Christmas.
But how many have been paid? Here are the stats:
33 have been appealed
28 have lodged complaints directly to the Co-op
125 had paid up as of 10 January
Drivers who have parked in either disabled bays, parent and child spaces, or in one of the spaces designated for those using the cash machine are required to pay £100 in charges.
This is reduced to £60 if they pay up within 14 days.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
25% pay up rate is pretty decent for a spam operation.0

There's got to be a PPC involved here, it won't be the Co-op doing this unilaterally.
Any idea who's involved with them these days? I thought they'd have learned the hard lesson with CEL.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Lee Hammond, head of security at the East of England Co-op said customers were concerned about people parking illegally in the designated spaces.0

Post borrowed from pepipoo
""It was on my local news last night and there's a bit more of a pre-story.
They had tried the 'nice' approach because the on-site guard was trying to educate people as they were clearly taking the mickey. (And were apparently 'abusive' when asked nicely)
It's not as if the car park has a lack of spaces it seems - it's just that many liked the convenience of parking that little bit closer. They felt 'powerless' and had no other option. It does seem the public have brought this upon themselves.
One report of a ticket being issued in the 'ATM' only spot after 3 minutes when the ATM was being used. ""I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
