Not a lot happening in the Massa Towers, eating from YS stocks and small top up shops undertaken only. Some how seem to have drifted through the last month and a bit without buying "stuff".

Now we are not buying baby milk the shopping seems so much cheaper even if we are going through milk like its going out of fashion that I am not actually sure just want the saving equates to.

£ 59.94 spent so far, cupboards and freezers still filled and treats still in stock from xmas so far so good for February

Computer gremlins mean the post I just typed has disappeared so lets try again...

I hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing day. I haven't had the energy to do much this weekend and whilst I didn't fancy the prospect of fishing everything out of the cupboards and compiling a list including use by dates, I did manage to have a tidy up and sort out and now things are a bit more organised and I can see what I have and more importantly what I don't have to buy.

I had a spend yesterday in m&$ which has eaten into my budget - mostly treat/unnecessary spends.

I am not sure when I will realise that you meal plan first then shop not shop and then meal plan....

I have about £47 left to see me to the end of the month. It will be great if I can achieve this. I only really need fruit (bananas/apples), milk and bread. Let's see what happens!
  • NSD today and yesterday.

Dinner : baked potato, tinned spaghetti and cheese sauce (OH). Rice bowl (me).

Won't be a NSD tomorrow as OH needs milk as a minimum, he was hoping to get milk today but didn't get to the shop before it shut.
I'm really tempted to get some almond dream salted caramel ice cream for Valentine's. It's £4 for the tub (472ml) but it's a flavour I've not had since I went vegan, and that's a very long time!

    No spend.
    £64.02/£140
    £75.98 left still.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • Spend today on essential milk, butter etc of 13.49 so will update. Hopefully NSD tomorrow.
Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
    Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD
  • Welcome new comers. Glad you poorlies are feeling better. Still no spends from us. We went to the jumble sale yesterday and DS spent his own money this time. He was very good with it and got some bargains. I didn't buy anything. They had a nice big glass storage jar, but it stank and I don't think I could have gotten the smell out.

I was given an unused gift of a cheese making kit yesterday though, so I'll be seeking out goats milk when I next go shopping. DS wants more "black pickle" soon and I imagine yogurts will be on the list soon too, but everything else is in good stock still. Glad I stocked up before half term. DS is only 5 and ate more today than I did - and I am not petite!!!!

    Hello everone.
Just my update - again it's been a bit unusual in that I went to visit brother and his wife and then friends on a bit of a road trip over the weekend. Therefore bought bits and bobs to take with me to share -wine, biscuits etc. I took flowers too but will take them from my 'gifts' budget. Supper and breakfast at my brother's. Today I popped into the local shop for wine, chocolate and crisps for myself. Tbh non essentials again. Oh yes and dog chews (£1.85) but from the dog budget which is separate.

£11.50 bits and bobs to take with me on visits (will include as food)
£7.58 - non essentials for me - wine (£4.99), Bounty, Galaxy and Crisps (£2.59)

    new balances

    £60.44 - food
    £4.44 - indulgences (choc etc)
    £22.07 - wine
    £2.87 - McD's pitstop

    TOTAL £89.82/£130 - REMAINING £40.18/£130 - around £20 a week for roughly the next two weeks .....
