cold snap on the way
Options
The weather man said that the country is in for a cold snap later in the week so how prepared is your car for winter
My car is parked on the drive and that is where it will be staying if the white stuff hits, I am in the fortunate position where i can walk to work so dont need to use the car during the rare cold snaps that we get in the UK but as soon as it happens many get caught out so how prepared are you ?

Freezer and fridge full. Nowhere to drive, bring it on.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

We live up a narrow, steep, very low-traffic lane in the back end of the Welsh borders.
If there's a bad day, we're going nowhere.
If it stays bad, there's winter tyres on the sensible car.
If it gets and stays REALLY bad, there's winter tyres on the old Land Rover.
The house LPG tank's fairly full, there's plenty of logs for the burner, and the candle cupboard's full.0 -

It will end up being -2 with a bit of frost and the shelves will be emptied of bread and eggs for no reason and most of it will end up in the bin. Just like most of these "Arctic Conditions" Headlines we are given...0

In The Olden Days, when we used to have snow, it would be in mid-winter i.e. Jan-Feb, so every year they tell us it will be a cold January with huge snowfalls.
Statistically, they have to be right eventually....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Two RWD cars with summer tyres, rural location at the end of a rough track, no option to work from home ...
Both cars fully serviced and checked. Coat, gloves and hat on the back seat. Phone charged, RAC card in wallet. I'll copeIf someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Forecast isn't actually looking too bad, so no reason to panic just yet!
However, since I do about 25k miles a year and live in Highland Scotland, the winter tyres went on in October and the sleeping bag, spade etc live in the boot nearly year-round.0 -

Same here. Plenty of food and fuel.
All-season tyres on all the cars with option of winters on the sensible one and two sets of chains for the Land Rover.
However, I'll be surprised if we get more then a hard frost.0
