Can this be true - no longer capacity to provide fibre broadband?

Hi,
Hoping someone who knows techy stuff can help.
We have had plusnet fibre for a few years with no problem. 8 weeks ago, plusnet changed us onto a "more stable fibre network" at 2am. We didn't notice the next day, still same service, didn't know they'd even done it. The day after, the fibre switched off and has been off since. After many phone calls and online chats, BT wholesale kept attempting to fix it but there was a "regenerating" problem. Now yesterday, Plusnet tell me that BT say the problem is no "capacity" for us on the new connection. There are no new housing areas etc near us.
What we need to know is is this possible? What can we do now (apart from virgin)?? Plusnet happy to refund etc but are they telling us this because it just can't be fixed??

Something sounds a bit odd to me, you could try enquiring with other providers (on line) just to get an idea if there is a capacity problem at your fibre cabinet (use your postcode as your phone number may confuse the system ) if it's not available (says something like available but not accepting orders) it's likely that the fibre cab is 'full' I recon PN cocked up , and ceased your connection, someone who was waiting for service on that fibre cab 'grabs' your connection (because PN said it was ceased by them)...they realise their error, but it's too late, and you become the person waiting for service, and the 'waiter' has service on your old fibre port, and obviously they cannot just grab it back, hence them offering to release you from contract (that's big of them, you should say they are failing to honour your contract and much like if you moved early they would expect you to pay early termination charges, you should consider telling them that you will leave early if they pay you early termination charges to the same level)
If there isn't a capacity problem (if another provider, BT, Sky TT etc) could give service on that fibre cab, then you should tell that to PN, and tell them to sort their s*** out0 -
Can you put your number into here http://www.dslchecker.bt.com and post up a copy of the results please?0

The only thing I can assume is the case is that you were moved to a dodgy port and there are now no longer any spare ports in the cabinet.0

Fibre is over subscribed in some areas.
Lucky you have the Virgin fibre option0 -

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.
This line is on a Market B Exchange.
For VDSL or G.fast Ranges A and B, the term "Clean" relates to a line which is free from any wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions, and the term "Impacted" relates to a line which may have wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions.
Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.
The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31-Jan-2013; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 30-Jun-2014.
There is currently a Broadband cease pending or in progress against this line. This cease is due to complete by 11th November 2016. This will not stop you ordering Broadband from a new supplier, but it will delay the provision of the new Broadband service.
Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number, NAD, UPRN or Access Line ID (ALID) check.
Note: If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service.0 -

Doesn't appear to be an availability issue. Use the excuse to jump ship.0 -
