    do you have extension wiring
Don't you dare criticise what you cannot understand
  • No extension straight into the master socket

Fuel is the ISP but I think its a sub company of Tiscali (?)

    The router is ZyXel.

How do check the router speeds please?

yes, but do any extensions exist, if they do, then it could affect the speed when you aren't using the test socket

No extensions at all. They never had them when we moved in and never bothered putting any in

No just the two cables. Is it worth changing the pair?

no, (I'm referring to the cabling inside the piece of plastic you've just pulled out of the master socket, not external to it)

    some diagnostic info here

  • Thanks. I followed the instructions seems there had been something go wrong with the routers. Just done another speed test.

    2.3 d/l
    0.9 u/l

an improvement but still not amazing. I think I will look at fibre as suggested. Hopefully it will help.
