Paper based and electronic copy. They only send it to the claimant if asked to do so.
Ahh, yes of course, thank you....I requested a copy of the report the day after the assessment, so was on the 25th, they hadn't received it then, but said that they would put a marker on it, to send me a copy....that was 10 days ago......just about to ring DWP.....Jack.

O.k... Have just rung DWP, after usual security checks a nice chap looked into my case, he said that the reason I have not received a copy of the assessors report was because the case has been passed to "several" different case managers, and was now with the appropriate case manager, and the report should be posted to me "by close of play" today.....he also said that as far as he could tell, no decision has been reached as yet, which is what I expected......at least some progress......can you actually ring up and ask if a decision has been made ?.......Jack.

Just wondering, is it normal for a claim to be reviewed by "several" case managers ?......Jack.

The original claim was that virtually all claimants would have face to face interviews. I understand that this is no longer the case and many are being assessed purely on the basis of the claim form.

True. I never had a f2f, just a telephone interview.

Maybe some claims never get passed onto outside assessors, if they look open and shut, so to speak.

Just another quick question....Is the case manager the actual decision maker ?.....or does the CM pass the claim on to a DM ?........Jack.

The case manager is the DM.

Thanks for that.....I wonder why the claim has been passed to "various" case managers ?........Jack.

  • O.k....Received copy of PIP assessors report today, it is more or less as I expected......two questions....1. Am I right in thinking that the Daily Living Component scores, and The Mobility Component scores are NOT added together to give a final score ?......2. Do the Decision Makers take the assessors report as "gospel" or can they either add, or deduct points when making a final decision ?......Jack.

Daily living consists of 10 activities. These are all added together and you need 8 or 12 to get a basic or enhanced award.

Mobility consists of 2 activities. These are added together and again you need 8 or 12 to get a basic or enhanced award.

The Decision Makers usually go along with the assessors report, I got exactly the same points as the assessor had recommended. They don't have to though, they can add or deduct points if they disagree with what the assessor has written.
