Thanks for that, I have also heard of quick responses, now that the backlogs are begining to be cleared.....I never thought to ask how I had scored, I assumed that the nurse would not be able to tell me....a waiting game now I guess, although going by what you are saying Tolly_T perhaps a call to DWP in about a week would be in order ?.....Jack.

  • yes its best to leave for 7 days then ring up and request a copy of the assessors report. Mine took over a week to arrival but it does give you a good idea on how things might go. If it has lies ( which im told this can be the case) you can start preparing for a MR...If it all goes well then you wont need it but id rather prefer for the worse and be pleasantly surprised it you get the award you think is right...The decision maker is obviously the one who decides but the report is a good idea to how it might go... Good luck

The original claim was that virtually all claimants would have face to face interviews. I understand that this is no longer the case and many are being assessed purely on the basis of the claim form.
Which makes a mockery of the whole thing.

So why bring out PIP? Oh yes sorry it has nothing to do with targeting the awards it's about shaving 20% off what was being paid out under DLA.
  • O.k....Rang DWP this morning and requested copy of assessors report, they have not received it yet, but have put a marker on my file to send it to me as soon as they do, no real timescale on it so the waiting game continues........Jack.

Still not received copy of the assessors report, ten days after requesting it, the lady at DWP said that as soon as they had it, I would be sent a copy....would it be advisable to ring DWP again ? or just continue the waiting game ?.....anyone got any thoughts on this ?......Jack.

They may not have recieved it them selves which is why you haven't had a copy. As you were told they'll send you one once they recieve it. Ring them to find out, it's the only way to get your answer.

The lady that did the assessment said that her report would be sent off more or less straight away, that was on the 24 th....presumably it is all done "electronically", so would have thought that DWP should have it by now, if not the next day.........I will ring them later.......Jack.

What they say and what they do is sometimes 2 different things. I also believe DWP have to recieve both copies before they can send them out to claimants.

What are the TWO copies that you refer to Poppy12345.....I assumed that Capita sends their report to the DWP, they then copy it, and send a copy to the claimant, in this case me....Jack.

Paper based and electronic copy. They only send it to the claimant if asked to do so.
