Yes it's a pain in the b*m about MrM.
Finances are jogging along. Realised I'd made a mistake with my Virgin card and had about ยฃ2.5k interest charging. I've just transferred it over to 0% on Halifax. I have a lot of 0% ending toward the mid end of next year so need to concentrate on getting them down before they expire. Obviously hoping I'll still be offered 0% deals by then.ย
Issues still ongoing with 18yo. Had a long chat with him the other night. He is severely depressed, said he is sad every day that he wakes up. Wishes he wasn't here and the only thing stopping him doing something silly is us, his family. I made him an emergency GP appointment and fingers crossed we can get him the help and tools he needs to feel better. It breaks my heart that my precious boy is so sad and I can't just make it all better. It's awful to hear he wishes he was dead.ย It brings to the fore the drinking & drugs are/were self medicating.ย
Sorry I know this isn't related to finance issues but is also a dumping ground for me.Credit Cards NOV 2019 ยฃ33,220.42 Sept 2023 ยฃ19,951.00 Tilly Tidy 20223/COLOR] Sept ยฃ43.71 Here's my diary: A Ditherer's Diary Again2 -

Sorry I know this isn't related to finance issues but is also a dumping ground for me.The good thing is, is that he is telling you. In part this means he wants to feel and live differently. With the right support this should be possible for turn around. Hoping the emergency appointment was productive and help is being found for him. Sending hugs to both of you.ยKKAs at 15.07.25:

Hope you get some help from your GP for your DS. It's good he has been able to tell you, I'm also seeing this as him explaining he just wants his current situation to end. Hopefully with some tools which may include meds for a while, he'll start to see an improvement.ย ย2

Thank you @KajiKita and @Spendless
He has self referred to #MindMatters and has an appointment on 4th October. I asked him last night how he was feeling. He sad better that he shared and had a good cry but still very depressed obviously.ย I'm optimistic we'll get help. I've given him a couple of positives to try and cling onto. His best friend coming from IoW to stay for a month (I have a feeling he might end up being a permanent fixture ๐คฃ) that he's shared his problems, we're on his side and committed to helping him.
0% transfer has gone through so I'll wait for statements to adjust payments. Also paid ยฃ400 on my Barclaycard as that was the payment for the place we've booked for our mini break and I used my credit card for the protection knowing I had the money saved to pay it in full.ย
I had my hair done yesterday, not quite enough in my hairdressers monzo pot so I've transferred that over and will use the rest from my tilly tidies this month. I'll add the total for that in a bit.ย
It's MiLs birthday today so bought her a couple of bits and need to transfer from my birthday pot and then onto buying a few presents for dd's birthday at the end of October.ย
In other strange news, received a random compliment from a gentleman the other day outside my office. He said I was absolutely gorgeous and a vision of loveliness. I was stunned but it made my day! ๐
