We have no internet 😥 I can only get an engineer booked for Thursday so having to log on to work using the mobile hotspot from my work phone.

Took puppy to an open space near us not used by many people today to try and get her to use up some of that puppy energy.

She loved it @lucielle it was only a short trip as she's so young. She's definitely finding her confidence!

Oh she's gorgeous - not surprised you're smitten already! I reckon Patterdale cross could be a good shout too - there's definitely some sort of terrier in there looking at the nose shape and the ears!

For the jumping up thing, a trick we've found works well is to simply withdraw all attention when the dog jumps up - literally  just turn your back and walk away. It means the dogs paws automatically drop back to the floor with no contact from the human at all - which breaks the link between it being done for attention and the dog actually getting that attention even if it is someone putting the paws back on the floor manually. We've teamed it with a brisk "No paws!" in the past too - and eventually in the case of all our dogs it's reached the point that "No paws!" means even if they are considering jumping at someone else you can stop them in their tracks.  It does need everyone in the house to be on board with it while you're doing the training though. There's little more embarrassing than a dog putting muddy paws over a complete stranger while out on a walk so we've found that a really valuable way of dealing with it. (I say little more embarrassing, but actually the dog pooing on the carpet of someone who needs impressing is probably up there!)

Thanks EH. Yes doing this at home, turning back until all feet on the floor so just need to get her used to it outside with strangers. I remember Ozzie doing it when he was young in a park, jumped up at a youngster who happened to be in white jeans! We'll get there.  😂

OMG HOW CUTE IS SHE! Hope the new puppy is settling in well, she looks adorable. Deffo looks like some patterdale in her. I would love to have a puppy around our place but we just couldn't accommodate one at this stage so would be selfish on my part to bring a puppy into the home

She's so sweet @FootyFanDan but my pots definitely needing sorting. I need to add in the pet insurance and account for food. At the moment the food is a bit of an unknown as I don't know how much she'll need. You're definitely right that anyone needs to think carefully before taking on the responsibility.
