Plusnet mobile
I see plusnet are slashing their prices further, now offering 1Gb for £5/month.
I also hear they are good at messing up number transfers.
I guess I could request a PAC code, (just to see if my current provider will match it)
If I don't use the PAC, I haven't lost anything have I ?

They're not slashing prices so much as having introductory offers. These can of course revert back in the future but it's only a rolling monthly contract anyway.
There's no general problem with using PAC's either, there's just the odd one or two who have issues.0 -
Beware their price list contains numerous errors and misleading information.0

They've had the £5 1GB, £7.50 2GB & £10 4GB offers available via USwitch since day zero.
iD Mobile, Plusnet and Talkmobile all seem to have similar sim only packages. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The £5 1GB was an introductory offer which disappeared a couple(?) of weeks ago but has now resurfaced as a 'special offer', the £7.50 2GB was also an introductory offer which just recently finished (fairly sure it wasn't there originally as I've just upgraded to it from the £5 1TB one although I may have missed it) & the £10 4GB offer was purely for people who pre-registered.
That said it'll probably change again tomorrow0 -

In one place they say calls to 0500 numbers are free. In another they say they are 20p per minute.
In one place they say inclusive allowances cover calls to 01, 02 and 03 numbers. Elsewhere they say that calls to 03 numbers are completely free, the same as 0800 and 0808 numbers.
They state that calls to CI and IoM landlines and mobiles are non-inclusive and cost more but fail to provide a list of the applicable prefixes.
Plusnet is profiteering on calls to some ordinary UK mobile prefixes, numbers they refer to as 'non-mobile services'. Changes to Ofcom's MCT regulations effective 1 May 2015 removed this anomaly.
There are numerous other inconsistencies. They are noted in a different thread.0 -
I rang and requested my PAC.
Got someone who I couldn't understand very well (which is unusual for them). They told me to ring next week so that I wouldn't have to pay cancellation charges. Nice of them. :rotfl:
They said they they needed to cancel the account.
Can't it stay running until I use the PAC ?0 -

It's a monthly rolling contract so there can't be any extra charges, seems like PN have a lot of new staff and some of them have no clue what they're doing yet.
They should just supply the PAC (don't ask to cancel) and once you use it your PN account will cancel automatically.
Call them back or try the forum.0 -
This was virgin I called, who I am will at the moment. (on 30day rolling 4G)
I will have a read of the small print.
I'm glad the call ended as I couldn't understand this person.0 -
I've just moved to PlusNet on their £7.50 2gb/month 30-day contract and my number port request went in on Friday morning and completed at lunchtime yesterday, so just over 1 working day. What goes around comes around.....I hope!0
