Best recording box for TV

You can still get a freesat box. You can find it in major retailers.
A normal box without recording is around £80/90£, and the ones with recording just over £200. Or if you can get an old sky box (ebay) but no recording unless you pay Sky i think £10 a month.

It much depends what channels you usually watch. Have you tried haggling with Virgin? They have an amazing deal at the moment of 200mbs, phone line and full Tv with movies for £55. Just ring them and have a moan and threaten to leave (if you are out of contract).

I dont pay for any subscription TV. Why? Because there is nothing for me worth paying for.

My TV has built in freeview.

It is fed using a small sky dish so it will receive all the freesat channels including HD and all the SKY free channels.

Thats plenty of dross to weed through to find the good stuff.

It has recording capabilities via a USB port into which you can plug a memory stick or USB drive.

Incidentally, this is a totally open sat receiver so you can connect a bigger/motorised dish and point it where you like.
