Best thing to do is to ignore the forum and hide thoughts of credit cards all together. Addiction is very real problem. Even the thought of 'I mustn't scratch the itch' will prompt the itch to fester.
Perhaps do a quick statutory £2 credit check before your next application..

It'll be a second card. I did previously have the Lloyds Avios card as I mentioned, although the £24 yearly fee wasn't really worth it for me so I closed it down in September. It was then when I opened up a Barclaycard Reward card as well as First Direct invited me for their Gold Card and I took them up on the offer for their incentive of using it with Apple Pay, and now that I've used that, I don't really use the card.
So I do have two credit cards already, one that I just don't use, the other I use for most things and I pay off in full at the end of each week0 -

If you wish to strengthen your credit history you should be settling your statement in full each time the bill's due-otherwise it'll look like you're not using your cards. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. As long as your credit limit is decent enough to cover your spending without going over the limit then yes pay off the statement balance in full each month rather than weekly as this will build a stronger long term view of your use of credit by both the bank who have offered this facility and the others that can see the information on your credit reports.0
