I think my Lloyds Credit card is still open?

in Credit cards
I contacted Lloyds Bank around September/October time to close my credit card down with them, they accepted this and told me I wouldn't be able to reopen it and so fourth in which I know, and then that was that.
Although I just received an email telling me that I haven't checked my online statements in three months, and I should check now, so I logged in and the account is still there, like it's active and working.
I attempted to increase my credit limit though as it is low and it came up there was a problem. But it used to come up with that even before closing the account.
Is this normal for the account to still be active online? I know when I've closed current accounts down then they've just disappeared..
UPDATE:
I just attempted to order a replacement card and it came up there was an error so I guess the account is closed down. But why would they alert me that I haven't checked my statements if there is no longer an account standing there?

Rubbish systems. I cleared out my bank account and cancelled some direct debit setups for cards I haven't had for over a year - I still got very strongly worded letters from 2 cards warning about making alternative arrangements to pay despite the accounts being closed with zero balance.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

I tried to get a Halifax Balance Transfer card at the end of October. At the end of the application they told me it had been successful, and my credit limit was £200! LOL
I phoned them the next day to cancel the card. I got a December statement, so phoned again this week to check the account really is closed. They assured me it was, and that I will not get any more statements. They said the card will show in on line banking for 6 months before disappearing, so it seems to a "feature" of Lloyds IT system.0 -

That was brave of you to risk another credit check by pushing that button!0 -
Hey, I have had the same issue with Lloyds called to cancel it but still showing on my account and receiving balance transfer offers.
Called them and they confirmed closed - they state it will show on your online account for 6month so you can access your statements ect.0 -
Halifax and Lloyds showed my credit card accounts for six months after I'd closed them too.
OP-I'm not expecting you to listen to me but don't you think you should tone down your hard searches for a couple of months?
From your various posts you've had a lot in recent months and the more you have, the more it looks like you're desperate for credit which will concern current and potential lenders. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Yeah I am aiming to pack it in with the hard searches for a good six months at the absolute minimum0 -

It's worth it-a lot can happen in six months and if you run your accounts well now it may just help later on down the line if you need a 0% card for balance transfers, cash-back etc.
I've been guilty for having too many hard-searches in the past! It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -

Yeah! I only really started dabbling with credit just short of a year ago and obviously back then I didn't realise how much it actually impacted my score until recently. I'm just wanting the Halifax Clarity to use abroad but they keep rejecting me, so if I maybe boost my record a little then they might actually let me join0
