"hello is that the government? I would like to rip off the UK public"

"sure , how can we help"

"I need a government loan to start a company and print some signs"

"OK , but we want 8% of your company"

"will call in tomorrow for the cheque , thank you"

this is a reconstruction of a call made by a company (reg No 05134454) back in early 2004

You used to know where you were when there was a fella sitting in a wooden hut asking you for sixpence or a shilling to park..... then came the machines, which was fine as you shoved coins in a machine to make the arm go up ...

Now it's all so complex and scarey that it actually puts me off going to new areas in case I miss a sign, or misunderstood a sign, whatever.... I prefer to stay at home, rather than continually run the gauntlet of not parking "properly" as defined by a sign I never saw in a car park I'm unfamiliar with etc etc.

Most of us wouldn't set out to be dishonest - these pirates prey on the unwary and gormless (that's me!) ... rather than the "spirit of the job" which would be to penalise "violators of the service"

Is there any difference between taking and using a parking place without paying and taking an item from a shop without paying

The only difference you get a criminal record for the second.

Almost no cases here or on pepipoo are about 'not paying'. Maybe 1 or 2%, very rare, and usually only because the PPC hid the P&D machine in an unlit corner and it was dark, signs were not lit either. The burden is on the PPC to make sure their signs are prominent and legible, including at night. So please stop trying to misdescribe what we do as if we are defending people from stealing.

For example, re the question of 'fairness' what do you think of this one where UKPC were nearly kicked out by the HA, then they renewed. New signs/new terms suddenly caused a plain white van to be ticketed at night outside the victim's own home, very likely contrary to his/her existing, prevailing right to peaceful enjoyment of their property, under their AST or lease:

    What about this one:

Appalling - and I don't mean the conduct of the OP. Should they both be blamed and fined? I think you are in a minority of one.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well said, honesty is a two way thing except when it comes to parking companies ...... honesty is not part of their vocabulary

No one on here condones not paying a legitimate parking fee.

However, your ill informed or poorly researched post shows you haven't the faintest idea what you are talking about, or what this forum is fighting!

pleas can you clear this up? how can a camera mounted on a pole sell parking places ?

would it not be easier to have a man with a little machine and a money bag to do this?
