Anyone know if SOGA or consumer rights applies to Amazon sales?

It will be cheap Chinese junk, you get what you pay for. If you want top quality items and great customer service buy from reputable sellers such as John Lewis. Chinese sellers are in the hundreds of thousand listing on Amazon and Ebay. A bit research when buying anything online will alert you to potential problems before you press the buy button.hypnosisderby wrote: »Doesnt matter if it was £20. He knows that Amazon dont care after 90 days, so like i say all he has to do is sell something that lasts 91 days and afterwards he doesnt care because the chances of him having to pay out are remote.
So you think its ok for sellers to act like that do you? You are happy that people just want your money and offer no come backs at all?
I bet you sell stuff online by the sounds if it0 -
i think it should last a year, but after 6 months a partial refund is acceptable. Technology is advanced enough to be able to sell something at that price that easily lasts a year, yes there are more expensive ones but that doesnt mean theyre necessarily any better.
The law says after 6 months the seller should discuss something with the buyer if theyre not happy and i think thats fair. This seller doesnt seem to care what the law says which is my main gripe.0 -

The seller is from Greece, there are pens a fair bit cheaper than i paid. Since ive bought it the number of 1 star reviews has gone up a lot.
Any the point is that if Amazon or even uk law did enough, it would stop so many people selling crap in the 1st place because they know theyd have tougher rules.0 -

However you bought from a seller in Greece, therefore you would be governed by whatever their consumer laws say not ours, if anything the fact you bought via Amazon gave you more short term protection than from the same seller via other means.0 -
So what "action" will you be taking then?hypnosisderby wrote: »Its not my point at all. People have a right to not be ripped off, if the seller cant even be arsed to reply then he shouldnt be sellling goods to anyone.
Id spend hours to stop this seller ripping people off again, i dont care about £35 though.0 -
Right now he doesn't need to "care", the onus is entirely on you to prove that an inherent fault actually exists.hypnosisderby wrote: »Doesnt matter if it was £20. How many times does it need saying. The price does matter.
As already shown by the Consumer rights act, the durability of goods can take the price paid into account, and no, I don't sell online. I'm simply someone who knows what a seller's obligations and responsibilities are.
If you didn't want other people's opinions and only wanted replies that backed you up, why bother posting in the first place?0 -
It has lasted a year (or there abouts) hasn't it?hypnosisderby wrote: »i think it should last a year, but after 6 months a partial refund is acceptable.0 -

I think youre wrong, as i understand it the law says after 6 months the seller needs to discuss the issue, he hasnt. Ive got to see what laws apply though
I dont know what "action" ill be taking yet but ill make sure he wont rip anyone else off if i can help it. He'll get more than a bad review
